I'd rather have avoid fake, but if I already had PD %, I'd definitely be looking at something other than Swat Ball to shore up another deficiency. I also believe that SA's like Swat Ball and Wrap-Up Tackle help the most when rolls are not in your favor, rather than providing a corresponding big boost over an equal match, hence the coup over % EQ.

Swat ball doesn't need to be very high for most FSafeties.
Unless the scheme of your defense has the FS constantly playing man,
5 is more then enough.

Far, far more important for a FS is Change Direction SA and Closing Speed SA !!!

I'd rather get an INT than a PD and am building a FS geared that way. I don't like Swat Ball at all..

what numbers are you looking at for end build? i have a CB that will be built for INTs, and im just curious as to what numbers other people are looking at when aiming for the same thing.

everyone would, but the likelihood of getting them consistently isnt as good as PDs stopping a play. PDs are where its at for building and INTs are just the gravy, imo.

That's like saying I'd rather miss 10 tackles and force a fumble, because that makes it all worthwhile. These sims are a numbers game - you have to try and maximize consistency imo. That means PDs and making tackles.

This is true but every defense needs at least 2 play makers. The rest of them can be boring and consistent. I love the play-makers.

they need to be playmakers that can tackle and PD fairly well, imo. INT machines tend to have to sacrifice some of that to become INT machines.

well they had to do so before archetypes came out... but even then, you could have a fairly good INT machine. you just had to know what you were doing from the start and really exercise patience in not getting away from your build plan.

but now, with archetypes, you dont have to sacrifice too much. my lvl 7 CB will have 130 speed, 95 agility, 83 vision, 75 jumping, 70 catching, 61 strength, 55 stamina, 50 confidence, 50 tackling with his trees looking like: 5-9-9-2-9/3-6-0-0-0/8 Jumping Catch. of course normal man spec CBs (and of course safeties as well) will have more SP to get speed and agility and vision and jumping up to further maximize their coverage abilities, but i think the build my CB will have doesnt really sacrifice too much for 70 catching.

I have a lvl 51 SS(first build ever) that in the last few seasons one year had 28 PD's with 8 picks then the next year had 6 picks with only 12 PD's. This time I'm making a FS and should be able to do better than a SS,.

Not sure yet. He'll have plenty of speed jumping agility and a lil hands.
