I am originally from Chicago, so I know hot & humid. Both suck, but no matter how hot and humid it gets in the mid-west, at least it usually cools off and drys out at night. Here in AZ, on days when it gets 115+, it will still be over 100 at midnight! Plus try getting into a car after work that has been baking in the sun all day. It's easily 130+ in your car!

Chicago is nothing like KC In Chicago they get that nice cool Canada air

i've been to philly and that must be brutal for you guys. does it usually get that hot up there, even in July?

Nah. Hottest summer ever through just June. We had one week in July where it was 95+ every single day. Hell, that week cleaned out the nursing homes pretty damn quick.

Last summer we had 59 days of 100 plus heat. This summer has been very mild thanks to the tropics. My yard hasn't looked this good in 6 years like it does now!

You're a Hawkeye fan, right? You going to the Iowa/Arizona game? The wife & I are thinking of driving over from San Diego. It's been a long time since I've been to a Hawk game. I worked in High School, also played on Saturdays in college, and moved away afterwards. So I'm talking Nick Bell-era games, lol.

I've never heard a Brit complain. All I hear is that everything having to do with them is superior to America.

I hope their weather sucks goat balls every day for the rest of time.

Ok, ok. I grew up and put 23 years in Kansas City, MO and Manhattan, KS before moving to Phoenix (no humidity) and Denver (approx 10-20% humidity) for the last 7 years. And I'd take a 114 degree day in Phoenix ANY TIME over a day of 100 degrees and 100% humidity in Kansas City.

I just did a trip back to KC so the baby could visit Grandma.. I stepped off the plane and about died in the thick wet air. It's disgusting and horrible in that humidity.

I was in Iowa around that same time, 1990-1996 time frame. Ya, I pulled a Tommy Boy, joining a frat didn't help that either, but finally made it out. And if Iowa is playing AZ, then ya, will try to go.

Columbia is the armpit of the south. It's a neat down, but damn the heat and humidity blows there.
