it does it now if you have 80+ carrying...but with the changed ALGs and AEQ rules i can't imagine it will in the future. Every defensive dot is gonna have a make tackle piece if people are smart...

well, ive been rethinking his VAs, and im thinking about going with bruiser, steady grip and slow starter (he can just hand off the ball in the first quarter for his plays) and then probably short yard monster.

so with just steady grip, his carrying will be 82, and with slow starter, it will 87, so carrying should be good in that regard.

how much strength would you shoot for? would 135/120/87 be pretty good (numbers including slow starter and steady grip)?

Hard to say, since everyone I know that has tried a tackle breaking QB has failed. Despite what Bort keeps saying, it really seems like QBs don't break tackles as well as other positions.

well with SYM now working for QBs, there seemed to be a fair amount of success with spin based RQBs. but we'll see. i think it will be an interesting experiment.

jd's right, its tough to say exactly. i would aim for at least 100 str....but with the whole weird QB dynamic that may not be enough. best idea imo is stay flexible w/ EQs and not buy any AEQ until you can test it out.

fair enough. wasnt expecting this build to do much until like level 60 anyways as he wont be working on speed until then. i figure he can get normal EQ in speed until then, and then when it comes time to figure out what to get for AEQ, we can cross that bridge then, and discuss that with me and the rest of the agents on the team.

fwiw, he had a decent game today (although the actual PB did get more broken tackles than the QB did, despite hvaing less strength and weighing less.). granted it was lollvl4minors against a cpu team, but as i said earlier, i wasnt expecting any sort of performance at least until he starts working on SAs.

its an interesting project to say the least, should be cool to see how it pans out. tbh, though, i don't know if i'd expect a ton...rushing QBs tend to just be fast.

thats why i think a power rushing one might be effective (or one that can run inside and outside fairly well.. as you brought up, the build in the OP might be more combo). teams will be stacking the middle for fear of an inside run, which opens up the outside for outside runs with your HBs. its like what fast rushing QBs did, with rushing outside and oping up the power run game, but backwards. and this build should also have 70 throwing to boot. i dont know if thats enough to complete little dinky passes, but that would be another tool in the toolbox.

Not in the big leagues. 120+ strength and 80+ tackling youre going down unless LTS or Stiff Arm fires.

120 strength and 80 tackling? would that be from a DL? just asking as i dont see LBs getting that. as for that, the OL that is going along with this RQB is probably going to be looking at ~140 strength all across the board, probably closer to 160 for the C, so im hoping that should take care of most DTs. but again we'll see. i'll be sure to keep every updated when the build starts to round out.
