Blocking is pretty low? Somebody needs to share the formulas for what exactly is important, I feel in the dark.

Maybe because there blocking is under 20?

And there Speed is over 30.

I'm no expert, but I would agree with this. I would think Blocking should at least be at 30, and honestly, based on some of the DT builds I've seen, 78 Strength might even be a bit low. I can see having a tad bit of speed on Guards, but 38 seems a lot higher than it needs to be. I mean really, it seems like it would really only be useful on sweeps where the Guard pulls, but other than that, it would seem to be a useless stat on most plays.

About the coding, it was directed to our playoff game only. (vs sac) I didn't mention anything about the defense but the ST. We are pretty much a defensive oriented team so we don't score much anyway. What we do is control the clock on offense and score just enough to squeak out a win. I think we did exactly that in our game but we were unluckily hit by a double punt return TD. This wasn't the first time this has happened to us at the wrong time as it even happened in one of the pro league team I was part of. I'm just little bit frustrated since we rarely allow return TD and the fact that there isn't much you can do with ST other than set the depth chart.

I rarely ever complain but I think I was being reasonable with the complaint without disrespecting our opponent However, win is a win and we just have to get better overall and try not to get into these close situation. Either way, SacPWs are legit and they earned it and I wish them the best luck. As for Pain Nation, you know I love you guys!

Not my team Raph. I took absolutely no part in Pain Nation this year other than dot building. Even though 89 begged and begged and begged, I refused! LOL I think he did just fine on his own.

his thought process was obviously that he would only need strength, and not blocking, to keep from getting revcaked. The speed is so that if he pancakes the opposing DT, he can get to the second level better in support of the run game.

Obviously, it didn't work out. But he looks like a genius if it does.

That looks like the typical C build for Pee Wees to me.

Also points into run SAs. Every year I hear something different:

Run blocking needs moar strength
Run blocking needs moar agility
Run blocking needs moar blocking
Run blocking needs moar speed

This build has always been good for holding his block and getting pancakes. I knew that being outside he would likely be up against weaker players, so the pancake numbers could have been exagerated, but it made me think that momentum had a lot to do with it, so I gave my centers more strength, speed, and agility to get that initial push. Obviously it made football sense, but I forgot this game was programmed by someone who never played a game of football in his life.

Still only 28 blocking, but to me blocking has always been about pass blocking. Speed, Weight, Strength, and Agility along with SA tree skills should be the running game.

Pass blocking should be about blocking, agility, speed, vision, and strength, along with the skills in the pass blocking tree.

DI is a passing team, so it makes sense that his OL are built more for pass blocking. But keep in mind that a run of the mill DT is going to have at least 85 strength. Having 12% less strength is going to factor into things.

Although, I've seen a OL get revCaked by a speed DE b/c of his lack of agility as well.

So it's really a factor of several attributes. And I think increased passing in PW has helped the game, b/c people have to decide how to make their OL now...not (necessarily) just get them all to 90 strength.

But the real question is... what's more important to you: Not getting RevCaked and being able to run it up the gut to convert the 4th and 1.5.... or being able to stop a speed rush DE when it's 3rd & 8 and your QB just pump faked 3/4 of their team?

My team wasn't really able to do either. The running game is a game of sumo. The big guys always win over much smaller guys, but the biggest guys don't always win. A 360 pound DT with 82 Strength and 30 agility/speeed should get destroyed by a 330 pound C with 78 Strength and 40 Agility and 37 speed because the C is going to be way faster off the line.

And what the hell is Bort thinking making the D-Line Heavier 30 pounds heavier than the O-Line?

Unless he's pulling or getting to the 2nd level to block a LB, speed doesn't really mean a whole lot IRL or in GLB. Agility is important, though, for getting off the ball.

In your example, you're right that the C would get off the ball much quicker. But if he lacks the technique (blocking) to actually tie up the defender or sustain the block, it's not going to do much good, nor will it have much impact if he lacks the strength to move him anywhere. IRL, I've seen some very effective NT/DT's that couldn't move...but the other team couldn't move him either.

Depends on when you get each stat to the level it's at, but I think of things like this: if it ain't broke... I didn't take strength that high until boosting. I believe most people push it up first and then go back. I pushed it to cap, then went with everything else, then came back to strength.

In all honesty, 90%+ of the effective dots should have similar builds at this point. Season long performance depends on the route you take to get there.
