It was way too hard to do it this week with all the loops and added games. I made it simpler but used the same basic idea.

Score = Number of teams you can form a victory chain to - Number of teams who can form a victory chain to you

I have finished the East.

Crimson: 9 - 0 = 9
Columbus: 9 - 0 = 9
New York Launch: 7 - 1 = 6
Pittsburgh: 6 - 1 = 5
Maine: 5 - 1 = 4
Naperville: 5 - 3 = 2
Indy: 3 - 1 = 2
Milwaukee: 3 - 1 = 2
St. Louis: 3 - 4 = -1
Sin City: 1 - 4 = -3
New Orleans: 3 - 6 = -3
Red River: 0 - 5 = - 5
Cleveland: 0 - 6 = -6
New York Mustangs: 3 - 9 = -6
Detroit: 3 - 9 = -6
Martha's Vineyard: 0 - 10 = - 10

Is this basically just you get a point for every win, plus 1 point for each victory in a team's win total if you've beaten them?

So it's sort of a glorified strength of schedule?

Hmm.. You're the man Tom, but figuring out how "The Happening" ever got green-lighted is easier than understanding this power ranking.

No.

A victory chain is if you take a team you beat, and take the teams they beat. The number of teams who you are above in a victory chain minus the number of teams above you.

Example:

Team A beats team B. Team A beats team C. Team B beats team C.

A is above 2 teams, and below 0.

Team A beats Team B. Team A beats team D. Team B beats Team C.

A is above 3 teams, below 0.

Loop case: A beats B, B beats C, C beats A.
A is above 2 teams, and below 2 teams.

I've decided to come up with my own power rankings.

For each win, you gain a 1.28 points multiplied y the win/loss percentage of a team, for each loss you lose 0.392 points multiplied by the win/loss percentage of a team.

The win/loss percentage of teams you faced is multiplied by 3.281 and then divided by by 1.92 IF the team has played more home games than road game, 1.89 if they've played an equal amount of home games to road games, and 1.37 if they've played more road games.

A range of values of .021 to 1.14 is then ordered 1-16 based on a variety and given to each team's standing in the statistical categories. These include both gained and given up for passing yards, rushing yards, TDs scored, QB rushing yards, hurries, sacks, punting avg, missed tackles, pass deflections, touchbacks, and field goals missed.

A range of values of .051 to 1.47 are given for interceptions, interceptions thrown, incompletions, drops, and ticket sales.

Lastly, a luck modifier will be assigned to each team based on how lucky they've been in the sims, (running out of time on a drive, fumbles inside your own 35, and so on.

The results:

t1) Colorado:17.4323
t1) EZ: 17.4323
t1) Fresno: 17.4323
t1) Hawaii: 17.4323
t1) Las Vegas: 17.4323

If your system puts the first 15 teams into a 15 way tie for first place...I kind of doubt its value.

I would say the fact that Concord is within .0011 of any other team is more disturbing, to be honest.

A is above 3 teams, below 0.

Loop case: A beats B, B beats C, C beats A.
A is above 2 teams, and below 2 teams.

it's fun to read, but is it worth the effort? Isn't their an easier way for you to do this TC?

I could automate this some with a program, but I'm lazy and don't want to write it out. Doesn't take that long to figure out.
