Most likely the CB is going to be a lot faster and a lot more agile than any O-lineman, or even most TE's. So they can throw the block, but most likely there wont be anything to block by the time they get there, especially since CB's play off the line.

I'm trying to build a true possession WR with strength, but I'm going to passively train blocking to about 18-20ish. I assume you don't need more than that because I plan on having relatively high strength and will just pancake DB's.

My WR blocks the FS and CB all in the same play. Oh and I haven't put any points into blocking. Trained on strength a little bit, but it still isn't very high. I think the high vision is what caused him to start blocking. I could be completely wrong though. Either way he opened up some running room for the RB even though it would have been better if he hit the FS then ran up field and got a block instead of on the CB who was behind the RB already.

Vision certainly helps a ton, since you see the guys coming.

I have a rushing FB with only 20 blocking, and he does fine because of his high vision.

Sorry I couldn't contribute to this thread when it was active. Now I can. See:

Popes' Guide To Blocking WR:

Specifically:

"CONCLUSION 2. Blocking is more important than Strength for blocking WRs. In fact, too much Strength (pancakes) is often detrimental to the running game."
