However the discussion on Clutch & 3DS is great. I think I will go with 3DS since I will be building it during the season. That way I get the flat bonus. However when the season resets, I'll move those points to Clutch to take advantage of the full 75% probability. Then probably rebuild 3DS next season.

i tried show boat last season on a WL corner...pretty meh overall. hard to guarantee you'll be on the same WR all game and get enough PDs to really make a difference. i guess if the whole secondary had it the VA could work better, but its hard to justify that. and, morale has been reverted to where it was last season so don't expect a major change this season. in the future, though, i think it may be useful.

but it really is a matter of opinion, and also a matter of how you build. i like my CBs to have higher catching and ~10 SH, and since clutch will help you get INTs, i like it. it also helps with a lot of other things... in fact, if you go and look at CBs that have clutch and look at some of their game stats on 3rd and 4th downs, its kind of ridiculous. like 6-7 seasons ago, i looked at the numbers for my level 63 retired on 3rd and 4th downs (it was maybe s8, im dont remember), and he had somewhere in the realm of 60 PDs, 30 Tckls, 1 FF, 4 TFLs, and 5 INTs. so yeah, i think its good and is right up there with 3DS. whether or not you like it, it is still a VA that most CBs should probably get.

We don't know how clutch exactly works, but it surely works and it works good!

3ds is the best VA for CBs if you care about deflections.

Sure.

And a true Shutdown Corner shouldn't be getting thrown on a lot. Its why I think clutch works better on my dot's build. Its got 9 Super Vision and 8 Shutdown right now, along with 84ish Vision [Level 53]. I want these things triggering and my dot avoiding fakes to stay with the WR and getting a pick if thrown on.

what about Long Reach?

^meh, its decent, and some people (jdbolick) have math to show that its better then 3DS, but there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that goes with 3DS, and since most people have more luck with 3DS, it is generally considered to be better. but LR is still decent, but it will probably be the last VA i get.
