I think this is a case of people needing to build better defense for special teams...

I find a lot of people concentrate on building players to block for special teams, and those people seem to find success scoring on special teams. Some teams build to stop returns, and those people are finding success stopping special teams.

I built my punter with 30 speed and 30 agility and 20 tackling to go with his 55 punting... but the speed and agility came first because I was tired of getting scored on during punt returns.

It has worked well for me this season.

I remember you publicaly crying because your special teams couldn't stop jack a while back. It's funny how in one season you all the sudden became a genious and now it's our builds, give me a fucking break.

Here are the four special teams scores against the DI all season. Notice none of them are after game 3 when my players had matured into their buildplans?

I am much happier with my special teams play this season. If you aren't, you need to go back to the drawing board and see what you are missing.

That is a known bug. They fixed it for the WL/PL because super fast dots were shooting past their lanes. Instead of updating the code to have them go towards the ball carrier and break down their options, Bort thought it would just be easier to program them to stop and wait for the ball carrier to pick up the ball.

Bad vision/agility on the ball-carrier is why he misses the ball btw.

Kickoff coverage is broken.. this is coming from an agent that doesn't get burned very often on Special Teams. You want to know how I know this.. I watch the sims..I watch ALOT of sims. ....not only do I watch them, I use player scout to see what speed my guys are running.. I place certain players with lower speed in spots so they don't over run the kickoff.... I have depth at every ST spot... I've put some time into this...

I will say this... coverage is getting a little better now that some of the dots have some agility.. but the returner runs straight up the freakin middle almost every time.

The dots need to break out of their paths earlier if the Kicker only kicks 45-55 yards.

We need more than 1 option for a return.. we need return left, right .. middle etc... We need control over each kickoff coverage lane and how we want our guys to respond.... I have no idea how difficult this would be for Bort and his programmers.. but make the play customizable and put the blame on us...

and for the love of God.. someone needs to write a football sim where the defensive guys getting blocked still flow towards the ball instead of standing in place and wrestling..

As I said in the Game Changes forum.. Punt and Kick returns are completely different plays in football.. the same logic and mechanics used to program a regular offensive/defensive play can not be used on special teams plays.. this has been the problem on every single football game I've every played all they back to Madden on Sega Genesis... That's the main reason IMO that Special Teams is busted on every video football game....

But seriously, in Pee Wee the gunner's are the least useful because they aren't far enough down the field to be able to cut in and make a difference.

How you do on kick-return defence is entirely how good your matchups are with your middle 6.

This. It's ridiculous, especially as someone pointed out when a score happens after you've had a long TD drive.

Lmao...if you think it's just builds, than you're smoking crack! I've been owning a team since season 8 and have never seen so many returns. My team is doing nothing different this season, than they have in seasons past, so it's not just the builds.
