Carrying to 68 is enough, Cover UP SA is not worth it. 2-4 is plenty. The bottom line is fumbles will happen even on a build with 80 carrying and 7 cover up. If you go that route your build will suck more.

Also once you fumble once your morale goes to shit so confidence helps.

I would be more inclined to go with more strength. 63 base Str is weak for a power back.

RNG + DT/MLB's beating on you on the inside + tackle angles (outside guys rarely get hit head on, which I believe to cause more fumbles) + tackler vs RB speeds (if OLB is coming at you faster than you are going at him, I believe this gives a FFumb bonus too)

Some speculation on my part, but I believe that's why powerbacks have the Cover Up SA, because they are put in positions where FFumb bonuses can apply.

Similiar to what Phantom said - I think about 70 Carrying(get steady grip VA) + 6/7 in cover up should be enough to keep you from fumbling too frequently against even competition. You'll still fumble more than you think you should though.

Confidence is important, and yes fumbles will happen, but strength alone is not going to stop fumbles in my experience.

Strength is good for breaking tackles though.

As a high level powerback, if you only have 2 in Cover Up, your build sucks.

With all the ground-up changes hitting GLB and the sim engine that has never been remotely similar from one season to the next, a HB who fumbles is a huge problem.

I said high level powerback, not one who just got out of the minors, that are barely halfway through their careers. Congrats on the minors awards though.

Also, when I said 2 in cover up, I didn't mean that necessarily "cover up" is a make or break skill. I meant that if you have only 2 in cover up, you are missing a lot of SA's due to prereq restrictions. You would have had to use your head to figure that out though.

True but it sounds like you're saying Cover Up is a must have SA when it's really not.

You need the minimum amount of points in Cover Up to get LTS./SA/PT to whatever levels you want them at.

I usually do 4 Cover-Up with 15 Mr. Reliable and 3/1 carrying.

I usually stick a couple in for an elusive back too. Four is usually enough.

I seemed to remember though, that the more speed you have, the greater the impact, and the higher the chance of fumbles too....
