Has it been confirmed by Bort that its a broken tackle percentage? I have Quick Feet and Slippery maxxed as well. Just wondering what it takes to have it fire consistently (i.e more than once or, at best, twice a game. Having usually 75 in the three attributes people associate with it, plus 5 in the SA, plus Quick Feet and Slippery maxed one would hope to see it fire more often.

Bort has confirmed that spin is a Broken tackle and NOT a Juke. Hence BT% should make it go up (logically speaking).

My RB has

Near mid 70's natural strength
Mid 70's natural agility
70 natural carrying
5 in Spin

It would fire once...MAYBE twice a game in OPL. Suffice to say I think he needs 3 things to be more effective in the Spin category:

-More Spin SA
-Higher Agility
-Additional fake %

Since spin is a broken tackle, what will Fake Chance % do? I would say that an elusive back that wants to Spin should have Slippery VA and Break Tackle Chance AEQ.

I know of a certain Elusive/Combo back that spins quite often who has NO AEQ and who swapped Slippery for Bruiser & SYM.

My question was regarding my fast powerback. I'm not sure why there would be a penalty for that SA. Power backs Spin all the time in RL. Also, I'm not saying it won't fire by not having BT%. My reference really was for a power back that has those same numbers of:

70+ Agilty
50+ Strength
60+ Carrying

My Fast Power Back has eclipsed all of these numbers.

My advice however was for elusives who wanted to spin. Since they may already have Slippery and not Bruiser.

Yeah I agree that having the Spin SA as a penalty under the new Powerback archetype doesn't make sense, especially considering it is a break tackle.

I found this. Do not hold me to it. It is just something to ponder. As most of us are left to guessing.

HB
Quick Cut (Agility 30 + Speed 40)
Stiff Arm (Strength 40)
Head Fake (Agility 30 + Vision 20)
First Step (Agility 20)
Juke (Agility 40 + Vision 20)
Spin (Speed 50 + Agility 40)
Cover Up (Strength 30 + Carry 30)
Lower Shoulder (Strength 30)
Power Throwingu (Strength 40)
Dive 4 Yds (Strength 40 + Jumping 15)

^it has been quoted numerous times by many mods and even admins that SAs will work regardless of attributes. its just that they will obviously work better when you do have higher attributes.

My elusive back with 96 agility 106 speed 49 strength and 68 carrying only had it fire 1 a game, at most, on average while a back on the same team with 70 strength 110 speed 70 carrying and 80 agility with only 5 in spin had it go off 2 or 3 times a game on average (played on same team with approximately equal carries a game).

I've since given up on my elusive back

I'd assume that's because its a broken tackle... you only have 49 strength... so you won't be breaking many tackles.

i think the first problem people have to get past is realizing that spin isn't a way for weak/agile backs to break tackles. it's a boost for backs that can already break tackles.

My elusive back has spin fire multiple times per game, even in Pro.
He is
70+ strength
75+ agility
80+ carrying
10 -Spin
30% spin chance
23% break tackle chance

spin is so ass backwards in this game. You don't see guys like Brandon Jacobs spinning out of defenders.

Spin should be all about agi/carrying/vision, dunno what strength would have to do with it in real life. Most of the time, if a ball carrier is going to do a spin, it starts with a juke one way and then a spin in the other direction, usually causing the defender to basically whiff on a tackle.

I may take it for my power back even though there is a penalty.

Well now there everybody can go fuck a duck!!!!!

look at the change log........

PHB"s are screwed on Spin now.....It is based on how elusive you run.

My FB almost pulled the trigger on "Spin" as its extra SA. I'm glad I waited another day or two to pull the trigger! You'd think they'd let anyone who did take it get a reset.

Its not being penalized for power runners anymore. It has been the past couple days, but they are taking the penalty away. So FBs who took it should still invest in it.
