Cincinnati v. Bortsville game says all you need to know. Ace had 15 carries for 127 yards. Bort had 32 carries for 83 yards, 1 TD and 1 fumble. Not to mention the fact that Cincy was 15-and-1, while Bortsville was not. Just like with real sports, winning leads to more individual awards.

Well, I just did a little more research... I assumed that once you blew out an opponent by 71 or more points there was a FLAT penalty to your stats. This is not true... the more you blowout a team the more players are penalized. This penalty does bottom out once the margin of victory is 255+.

That said, you cant just factor who had more blowout adjusted games... you also have to look at how badly each team blew out their opponent. As you guessed, Bortsville was hit much harder by this as not only did they have 3 more blowout adjusted games but they had some much larger margin of victories in their blowout adjusted games.

To put this into a numerical value... Bort Baggins lost out on an additional 567.06 yards and 8.07 tds in the blowout adjusted stats because he was hit harder by the blowout penalty than Ace was.

Here is what the blowout adjusted rushing stats would look like if their blowout penalties were the same:
Bort Baggins 3955.5 yards 57.24 tds
Ace Flame 3114.38 yards 66.13 tds

You take that into consideration with the fact that Bort Baggins had 60 less carries, that Ace fumbled twice as many times, they both play HB and were relatively equal in terms of contribution to overall team stats and...

Bort Baggins is the clear MVP winner without the errors in lolblowoutadjustedstats


Bort is happy with the system though... it is working as intended!!

You have to realize the game is bigger than you and Skanker...

I am not all trying to strike controversy between you two personally (only trying expose the joke that is the MVP system). I am sorry you could care less that a system (with a huge glaring flaw) rewards winners with a grossly overpowered piece of equipment. If there was no obvious advantage to be gained I wouldnt give a shit. That said, if Bort wants to continue to hand overpowered pieces he should fix what is obviously broken.

I agree both have great players deserving of a MVP. Close race anyway you slice it. That said, you are the one who is "pathetic" if you dont care.

True... But still doesn't make his research irrelevant, as it clearly shows that the system is flawed. If it leads to a fix, awesome. If not, meh, none of you care.

Fair enough... so long as you agree that system is broken and will support this cause once the season is done.

That said, I think you have lost sight of the fact that it is in your "teams" best interest for Ace to have that MVP equipment to improve your chances of fulfilling your "team goals" next season.

Mvp awards aren't won on overall stats - they're won by players who put their team on the shoulders and wins the big games. They are not won by players who can't even manage 3 ypc in the big game and are a major reason their team lost.
