I don't quite understand this logic. If it doesn't count in stats and it doesn't count to playoff seeding, you are making it an exhibition game. ...that's what friendlies are for.

This is only a problem because of gutjobs and non-competitive teams (how ironic that this is coming from me ...)

You could make the same case for teams going CPU midseason and giving an easy game to the rest of the teams that get to play them now.

Fix the system, somehow, and it's not a problem.

Because I dont want to see a 15 game season and I dont want to see a 17th team in each league. If you want to use that first game as some sort of tiebreaker fine, but that's all the meaning I'd give it. My point also to keep it is that it's fun chatter between conferences to start the year.

tbh, I don't think many people would complain about one bye week a season. I know I sure wouldn't.

I wouldn't mind. Hell, we already get 2-3 of them every season from gut jobs or teams that are way out of their league, whats 1 more against nobody. It would be amazing to get to scrimmage your own team though. I'd love to see our O play against our D.

This would be huge... and let us do like two or three (or seventeen) intra-squad scrimmages a season. The NFL teams only get better by watching the game film they put up against opponents? Not so much. Isn't that why they have Training Camps and mid-week practice? How else do they perfect their play-calling/"AI"?

would love this as well. it was pitched to Bort and there was a technical reason why this wasn't as easy it as it reads - something about the way everything is copied out of one database and into the sim engine ...

so, not impossible but would take some work. maybe someone should ask hazy about it again now that he is on staff and maybe it can get osme support?
