In case you missed it on the front page. Looks like they lost a bunch of PM's o_O

I guess that dispels the rumor that they never read them

Open outbox, find sent message, select everything, copy, click Tournaments, click send message, paste. While it sucks that they lost them, it took me about 15 seconds to re-send it.

I know lol I deleted the message awhile ago to clear my outbox (why idk) so I just had to redo it.

Hey, they've done a great job for the past couple of seasons, and it's really nice of them to do it for us anyway; organizing a 128-team league would be an enormous pain in the ass.

Yeah but on my team alone they have made over 300 dollars this season alone. Imo not too much to ask to be a little more careful with the pms.

I do admit, I do like how they handled it (went a whooping 2-1 last season), but that being said, it is a real let down to have to re-pm someone that you in sense already "pay". Like having to reorder at a restaurant, just unprofessional and lame. But it happens, at least they are giving us 6 games instead of 3 games this season.

And yeah Stwcjj is the man, +1 to him for any kind of mod. Really classy guy.

Things happen, I know I'm not perfect.

But they do a pretty good job...and it's even easier now that they go through the effort to schedule our games for us.

The official tournament thread has more detail than the announcement:

I'm truly sorry for this issue. It is not the fault of GLB, it was my PC.

There's no controlling PC crashes, and even if you're very careful, sometimes data will get lost.

But regardless, I piped up originally because I saw a couple of posts that looked like they were building up to a Tournaments/DrkSandman hating thread, and I didn't think he'd earned that. However, I clearly underestimated my fellow pee wees, because that hasn't happened at all; the minor grousing about the extra work is completely understandable.

What I dont understand is how come all of these applications had to be kept so secret. Seems like a list of teams that had entered correctly could of been updated daily or every other day on tourney homepage. Instead of stashed away for some tourney mod to figure out right b4 tourney.

The first two teams that are not already in, don't have a match scheduled for Day 5, and who send me the proper sign-up message per the official thread will be in.

Thanks!

Remember human element, folks. I assure you I'll make another mistake someday.

The issue was partly my awesome work PC, and part me clicking a wrong button when something weird happened. You can gather the empty feeling in my gut I had when I saw hours of work go down the drain. Pallow and I worked for about an hour to recover the PMs (you saw some team IDs listed in the announcement - that's what we got) but we just could not get the rest.

In case you're curious, here's how it went down. I was going to try something new this season. Instead of random seeding, I was actually going to give real seeding a go, somewhat. Last season we had one side of the bracket loaded with Gold teams.

While I know Pee Wee starts even, and a Copper team COULD win it all, Gold has some pretty amazing players and owners. So, I was adding all the teams to a spreadsheet, deleting the PMs after doing so. I had planned to do a bit of sorting based on finish last season in the tourney, league level, etc.

I still tried to get things a bit more fair today, but I just didn't have the time and didn't want to keep you all waiting.

I'm sorry some of you feel that my tournament is "bush league," but please remember - I'm volunteering my time to do something nice for the community. I don't expect you to love it, but I'd appreciate feedback as opposed to random pot shots on the forum. Nothing I can do if I don't know what's wrong.

Good luck to you all this season!

It's not really a "secret." I don't like to release the bracket until after the first round is scheduled.

Here's why:

Say I get 300 applications. Obviously only 128 can play, right? So I pick 128 teams and send them on their way scheduling. If Team ABC doesn't schedule their game with XYZ I have to find a replacement. Well, now those other teams that didn't make it have made other plans. I finally find a team, but now that match is delayed two days. Then the next round is delayed... then another team doesn't schedule.. on and on it goes.

So, instead we have this format. I schedule the games. If Team ABC scheduled another scrim on Day 5, I boot them and pluck another team from the list. Nothing gets delayed.

This season, there we enough teams that scheduled other games, or we like Cap 38 teams (I'm not kidding. Four non Pee Wee teams tried to sign-up) that I am two teams short for the tourney.

Hope that answers your concern. PM me of not, not sure if I will check back here soon.

cool only a couple days ago you were looking for like 70 teams, did you fill this tourney up only after sending pms to teams such as Short Bus?IMO Bush League

Previous Tourney Champions should be given the number 1 seeds, hth.
