The first part is probably true, but the second is not. Providence went 2-14 two seasons ago and only stayed in CPL due to guts. It's generally had a lot of quality depth.

no, it really hasn't. You guys were just 10-15 levels behind your competition. CPL's depth hasn't been very good for a while.

Define "a while", so that it becomes less arbitrary, serves a purpose, and we can figure out which seasons to use in explaining that you're wrong.

Do you see me making any comments about the APL? No. That's partly because no one gives a flying fuck about Africa, and partly because I don't run my mouth on subjects I know nothing about. Providence was used to being drastically out-leveled almost every season (as was Grand Banks). The reason why they stopped kicking ass on the move from AAA to Pro wasn't the presence of much older dots, but much better dots.

Read jd's entire statement. The part I quoted was so that you could read it twice.

For further evidence, look at the fact that Valhalla had no problems winning a lot of games in SLAP two seasons ago, and they made the playoffs the season before that. Obviously big level gaps hurt both teams, but it was pretty easy to see that CPL had quality depth.

I don't know what it was like 2 seasons ago, there may have been a lot of guts but last year, it was a cake walk.

I read it.

The dots he was going up against in CPL had better builds IMO they also had more organized VA's probably.

As Providence got more VA's and probably started adding SA's they got much better.

Personally I do know a lot on the subject about being out-leveled.

yah, wtf would I know. I spent one season in APL with Dakar so apparently I'm an expert there?

I'm not going to get into an argument about something from months ago and has no bearing on anything, so feel free to continue to pick random data to support an already drawn conclusion.

Lots of Pro Leagues were cakewalks for lots of teams last year. It's just that CPL was one of the single worst examples that could be chosen.

What did you guys do last year, jd? 10 wins? And you're slated to for probably an 8-8 record this year? Obviously that's retarded data to use (although it's right at home in this thread), but WL isn't really as far off from CPL as, say, http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=2964 OPL is.

S12 & S13 haven't been strong for any Pro leagues due to the transition forced by decline. As for the future, when I look around I don't see nearly as many "quality" teams in any region as we've become accustomed to. There are a handful of potential dominant S6 or later teams scattered around the game, but I think there has been a drastic dropoff in interest and organization, resulting in far fewer potentially "elite" teams. I think the cloud obscured that to a great degree, and that people will be surprised just how much the 11th to 25th best teams will suck in comparison to the top 10.
