I'm having an issue with powerbacks. They are the only ones able to make my SS miss tackles. And it's always SAs like Power Through.

It's not just you or SSs though. That also goes for MLBs and strength based DT/DEs too. Short Yardage Monster + Bruiser + Break Tackle % AEQ makes power/combo backs ridiculously hard to bring down behind the line of scrimmage and even within the first 8yards of the line of scrimmage. Not to mention that most have like 10 in powerthrough and 5+ in lowershoulder/stiff arm
There really is no magic fix there. It's like how Olineman are kinda screwed at times because a 90agility-115strength DT/DE with Technique Man + Bull Rusher + Heavyweight + Shed Block + Break Block % AEQ is going to pancake a lot of olineman regardless of how well built the olineman is

If you want to stop the top powerbacks you need more than just 68 str/tkl. Gotta go all out like they do.

You can't really go all out to stop them from the SS position, at least without gimping your player. I've gone 80 STR/75 TAK + Make Tackle % EQ + a strong tackler SA tree and still miss against PBs. If I went any higher I'd be a liability in pass coverage or against faster players.
As a defender you have to be able to get to the ball carrier in order to even use your tackling skills. As a runner, your break tackle skills will be in effect any time you have the ball (except for the restriction on Bruiser). I think break tackle is probably the most useful VA/SA for this reason.

Powerbacks don't go all out with strength andcarry really. The best combo backs i've seen have strength about 95-105 and carry 60-70. The key is short yardage mosnter, bruiser, break tackle % aeq, and SAs like power through, stiff arm, and lower shoulder.

by level 70 its not that hard, you also cant neglect agility/vision/jumping and SV SA. IMO strength is just used in run support.

That's not true, Strength also helps with pass deflection which make it more useful than tackling.

I never said that build would neglect those things, did i?

But it would....it would have to.
If you had 80 str and 80 tkl along with 110 speed and 11s in MH, Growl and BH where would you expect agility/vision/jumping/confidence to be at level 70 if you also brought SV up to 10?

With only 80/80 str/tkl?
SV 10, CD 5, agility 70, vision 75, jumping low 50s, confidence low 50s.
That might be shortselling stuff too.
It's obviously impossible to also have 45-50 conf/stam/jump and good SAs and get agility and vision to 80 along with str/tkl and 110speed. But then again, that's not to say that alternative builds (not shitty "balanced" build SSs i see) aren't worth trying out. You can do a lot of stuff with proper slowbuilding and training chains.

This I would agree with.
But had you stuck with what you originally said then I wouldn't agree....

Like you infer in your last paragraph, you wouldn't be able to get all those attributes up if you put that many points into SAs. The tradeoff has to be made somewhere.

I don't get what you're saying. 80/80 str/tkl is still doable and you can have a rounded build.
Just like i can make a coverage guy easy with 120speed/80agi/80vis and still have 60 tackling and 60 jumping and good SAs (10supervision, 10 closing speed, 7change direction). Could even make that look a bit better with better focus
Lots of things are possible if you build certain ways

no but it would be tough to finish the build.

thats what i was trying to say.... be interested to see if you can do this in the build creator
