I am Manchester United fan, season ticket holder.

I'm sorry Gianni, but to claim League 1 is "actually seeing football" is ridiculous. Fair play to the fans who go, but to call that real football as many people seem to, is plain silly. Nostalgia and getting caught up in the moment often gets in the way of reality. It's a poor standard, with poor players, playing in front of enthusiastic crowds. I've often been bored to tears watching that level of football due to the lack of quality and entertainment.

I too am glad that England did not qualify for the European Championships for one major reason. This is the majority of England fans who take it out on individuals for the team not succeeding. I witnessed first hand the abuse suffered by David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and to a lesser exetent Phil Neville from "Ingerlund" fans in the aftermath of major tournaments. Absolutely terrible. These "fans" will always tarnish my view on the England national team.

The only problem that I have with Premier League football is that the players aren't the typical English players anymore. English teams used to be feared for being bold, hard and playing dirty, which was nice. Nowadays they go down just as easy as an Italian
On top of that, calling an opinion ridiculous is ridiculous. I respect the fact you disagree with me, and want to point out that my statement isn't entirely how I feel about it. I do however prefer watching league 1 football over Premier League football. That is an opinion, and yours might be different.

Fair enough, in my opinion your opinion is ridiculous

If you prefer to watch that level then fine, if my team played in league 1 I would also prefer that level, but to say it's actually seeing football is what got my goat a little. I forever hear people telling me the lower leagues is where the real passion and football is, but I just don't buy it. I actually went to see Stockport County (League 2), FC United & Salford City (NW counties) matches last year, and although enjoyable, was nowhere near the class and entertainment of the Premiership.

I do agree 100% with your point about English footballers turning into jessies. $teven Gerrard is a prime example of someone trying to typify the "British Bulldog" spirit, when in fact he is a diving primadonna, the exact thing he had a go a overseas players for bring into the English game.

This is the main reason I follow American Football and Rugby League in England, to get my fix of a real mans game.

Amen to that Lower leagues will never have the same sort of passion when it comes to the fans off course. It's just the sissy's on the field I can't stand (plus the fact they dominated the CL)

I like English soccer (no, I'm NOT going to call it football.....not ever). They're one of my "favorite" (for lack of a better word...."preferred" perhaps?) teams, because as stated above, they usually play tough and don't fall down all over the place like a bunch of soggy vaginas.

I can't stand that about soccer and I don't care if it's part of the game. It's the worst part. If I were a player and a guy fell down grabbing his knee screaming bloody murder, I'd just point and laugh.

Oh yea, and I'd also openly question his manhood at the press conference after the game.

Team: Grimsby Town (as "Lower league" as you can get!!)
Players...None anybody would have heard of

Got to agree with all that has been said Re: Ingurland and the Premiershit, not fans of either and having watched a few "real" Football(NFL) matches the last few years i've lost an awful lot of interest in soccer!

Besides, Materazzi's red card was bull-sh*t. And obstruction is always awarded with a foul... If he stays up Iaquinta is there to lay it in, so it would have been a goal anyway.
Great game btw I think you guys were the best team Italy played at the world cup
