Level 7 I believe to be exact. So that gives a team enough time to use up the boost well, then cut him and add a new level 1 which is again, no chemistry effect.

But a level 7 who has been dumping points into throwing should be better anyway as he is naturally better and still receiving a bump from the fix.

I highly doubt the bonus tapers off so extremely that a level 1 could pass better than a level 7 whole is putting points into passing.

I'm more worried that the level 7 with capped catching WRs is going to be chucking it for 80% completion.

I thought lvl. 7 was the signing cap for D-leagues and 5 was the chem cut-off.

so come playoff time how many people are going to cut their QBs and bring in a level 1?

I am happy to see this change. Yeah, it may be a bit over the top but let's let it run its course this season and re-evaluate. I don't think this passing 'fix' will be any different than any other season in that if there is an edge to be found, the good teams that are willing to do their homework and test things out will benefit.

I can see at least a couple teams keeping a lvl 1 QB on the bench and testing their performance compared with their regular QB in sims during various points of the season. Like Fu has said, I don't see why a lvl 1 would outperform a lvl 5+ player but who knows?

My bad. Got them a bit mixed up, thanks for clarifying.

Darkus, perhaps a creation day needs to be tied in with the bonus? I'm not sure if you can make it work that way, but it might help stop the exploits.

How do we know there is an exploit here? Are we assuming that Bort put a massive buff on level 1 QBs, but had it taper to nothing by the time you hit level 3?

We're basing this Idea of exploits to the passing buff off of purely hypothetical speculation of a highly unlikely nature.

Darkus,

Is Bort considering backing this off a bit , or is it a go - as-is for Season 13?

Is there anything else being considered? Boost to INTs, different way of boosting passing game? etc..etc..

I'm all for a boost, since the threat of passing will balance the Pee Wee game compared to last season. However, I think the boost should correspond to the players build. Day 1 QB with 40-50 throwing should be reasonably accurate, not a 10 throwing QB. 10 catching WRs should not be catching the ball 80% of the time.

This may have been done - but I think Bort and staff should get with the most experience Gold owners and research what Pee Wee WRs attributes look like day 1, 10, 20, 30, 40 and the different types of builds. Speed based, Possession, Blocking. Then try to figure out a proper boost where Agents that stress catching can be reliable receivers, agents that stress speed can still catch but not as reliably. Also, thinking of blocking WRs, a day 1 blocking WR that can catch will be WAY overpowered. 40-50 strength WR trying to be tackled by a 12 strength, 15 tackling CB.

Still no answer on the other attempt, at which a QB would be about level 3 AND had tons of training from the season, so technically he's about 1/3 of the SP behind and has tons of training to which the QB is still very relative to a decent level 8.

From Bort's answer, it appears that the team level will affect the boost more than just the individual QB or other players.
From that you can deduce that the Lvl 3 QB with tons of training would really suck, as the overall team level would have reduced the passing boost to or past a point where said QB could be effective. If that's the way Bort has it coded, owners/agents who try to exploit the boost are gonna be crying cause they didn't understand how the boost worked.
I'm still trying to figure out why some people are borrowing trouble and not letting things play out......worry about "what if" down the road and have fun with the sim in the meantime.

Well, I'm just making sure we don't have a massive cry by people because of this, so I just wanted to make sure there is none of this.

It seems pretty secure, in order to get a bigger bonus, your whole team has to lower their levels, which would just get you crushed in every other aspect of the game and probably passing too as your WRs got owned by the DBs..
