Would it work if I made an OLB with Hard Hitter Special Abilities mostly?

If you're a LOLB, that would probably be the preferred route.

don't waste points in stamina. Just sign with a team that has quality depth.
don't worry about str and tackling unless you start missing a bunch of tackles.

Of course, you are pinning your hopes on none of the other LBs on this deep team "wasting points in stamina". Otherwise, your energy will tank in the first 5 plays, and they'll never come back off the field to let you on.
Your stamina should probably be between 20 and 30 for most of the positions in this game. A little higher for a DT, a little lower for a WR, maybe. But its certainly not a waste of points.

Well, shouldn't a team be recruiting the type of players it needs to make everything click? and shouldn't the owner and DC be in agreement on the type of build they want to make it happen? and shouldn't they be monitoring builds to ensure that a plan is being followed?
Stamina is great if you don't have a team with a plan. If you do have a plan, there is not much need for stamina past 20 or so. At least not until you really start hitting the high levels and have nothing else to train

Yes, stamina is very important, but any player that has stamina as his highest attribute is just being selfish.

^ I'm not saying it isn't important...but given the choice between ONE LB with 40 stamina and 20 speed and TWO LBs with 40 speed and 20 stamina...I'll take the two LB's every day of the week!
Depth can make up for a poor stamina. The two LB's would have to be reduced to half effectiveness before they'd play as slow as the stamina hog, at which point the stamina hog will be sucking some wind and be playing even slower.

I concur, excellent point. I found 25-30 stamina and a back-up around the same worked very well for my players.

More speed, agility and vision. If and when you start missing tackles strength and tackling. No more SA's for a while. Good build for a MLB.

Please give me some insight on my player as well. I know I wasted points with the SA's that should have went to speed.

I don't think you wasted the SP on SA.
That said I would focus on speed, agility, and vision for the season.
