you need very good vision and agility if you want to be a speed receiver because your moving faster and have to adjust to the ball

As far as catching goes...I have a level 16 WR, in two seasons, 25 games I have 23 drops.

My catching stat is at 28 and I haven't raised it in for a long time. I get between 0 and 2 drops a game no matter where my catching parameter has been.

I started training my strength in the middle of this season and noticed more broken tackles and more YAC. I think strength is an overlooked component for a receiver.

Also, don't forget about carrying. Once you've caught the ball, you become a running back and need some in the carrying stat as well.

That's not bad...I have my catching at 35 and I had 8 drops vs 74 receptions:

I'm a huge proponent of vision. Confidence is also something that gets overlooked a lot. Strength is sort of overlooked, but my guy has like 7 strength and did fine, haha.

Vision is definitely the most underrated skill for a WR for sure IMO.

Strength is also important for blocking CDs and Ss on outside runs, and training in blocking may be worthwhile also if you have a team that runs to the outside a lot. I just noticed last season my WR had higher blocking and strength compared to the other WRs on our team, and tended to do a better job holding blocks and springing outside runs.

My catching is only around 37 and I do get quite a few drops. I had 14 drops last year, but considering I had 108 receptions, it's not terrible. I plan on getting my catching up quite a bit this season and hopefully I won't drop as many.

So to the original topic, building a speed receiver has worked pretty well for me so far. I'll get my agility and catching both up to 49 this season, and I think he'll be pretty beastly then.

What is your Vision & Confidence numbers - if you don't mind me asking?

Vision is only about 29... confidence is around 25. Confidence may have something to do with it. I'm pretty sure I had 4 drops in one game (too lazy to look it up). Another time, I fumbled, and I had 2 drops after that. I think the main thing is my catching, though. I need to get that up a little more.

Like I said though, I don't think 14 drops is that bad when you consider the number of balls that came my way.

Keep in mind that a lot of drops come when you don't have high jumping, especially in the slot on an in or slant where the QB throws over the line. I've seen a lot of balls that look like they go right to the receiver but bobble, so I take that as a high throw that's tipped.

My WR got alot better as I increased his Confidence, Carrying, and Vision too.

Also, he has 26 strength and broke 5 tackles last game.

Ok. So its all about Speed, Agility and Vision. What is the ratio?

For example, if I had 40 speed, what's a good number for Agility? 30?

And vision? 25?

I'm going for strength/agi/vision on a WR. I'll let you know how it works out.

I would also say that strength is a very important considering the fact that most CBs right now are pumping up their speed and agility , but not strength .

Right now I'm training strength , hoping to see an effect on that soon .

my level 25 WR has great speed, agility and catch, and some jumping.
