We will see. I have a DT that will be 95/95/90 and is going to have 10 FS. I'm betting he gets completely shut down in this SIM.

After watching a lot of test server results, this is my opinion of how the new SIM will work unless it is changed before it goes live

1. Get enough strength so it is = > OL you are going against.
2. Get enough speed to get to QB once you break block (looks like 75-80 for DT and 80-85 for DE)
3. Add as much agility as you can afford

So for DT
120 strength, 80+ speed, 80+ agility might end up being the correct build. (and hope your DC doesn't line you up over a C)

for DE
105 -110- strength, 85 speed, 80 agility

Dude, chill the fuck out. That's not even close.

How do you know what it will be within the new SIM? I'm perfectly calm, and will wait until after some preseason games before deciding if I need to change equipment on my DTs. However, that is my assessment after watching test server games using the new pass blocking dynamic.

It may be different once it goes live, because VAs will be added in, and apparently SAs can effect players differently on the live server than they do on the test server. However, watching the test server, the new code doesn't look good for agility builds.

lol......so many people in these forums are still trying to build their guys like seasons past, those stats are no longer valid, they were a fluke a bug. IMHO, hight and weight will be a huge factor from now on, strength agility and speed will have to be comparable to the O Lines Strength agility and Blocking skills, and even if it is on par with the O Line, blocking pathing, rushing pathing are still issues, which seem to be changed every other day, and another huge factor on a DT's stats is where he is played or lined up in the defensive scheme......

Rage and AMP both have been around a long time and know the forums, and follow the test server....But with as many changes that are going to happen this season, I think it is a wait and see how these effect the pass rushing from the line, Expl are hurries actual going to do anything this season, they have had little or no effect up to this point?....Can an overloaded defensive line get men through due to too many rushers for the blockers to handle?, will FB and TE be able to block three defenders on a play? How will the VA nerfs play into this season?

Good information posted, but a lot of the build numbers are not that much different from seasons past....High strength/agility/ and speed.

All I know is if the SIM changes as much as Rage says it will, I will be severely depressed as my Dlinemen worked great up to last season.

it'll be interesting to watch for sure. If we didn't have to change our builds every damn season b/c bort doesn't know what he wants while trying to find balance then many ppl wouldn't mind as much imo.

What I've seen so far - DTs doing great in lower leagues and against crappy OL. DTs struggling in WL and USA AAA.

Will check out Pro leagues tomorrow.

Haven't watched many but I do know my 34 cap dt seemed to do very littly bouncing from last season to this one.

Strength looks like it's well outperforming agility/speed, still, on DTs. I just moved all my strength DE's equip to agility because strength wasn't working on a DE, and now I'm thinking I should move all my agility DT equip to strength, for the same reason. Agility just isn't doing much in the interior line, though it did cause a lot of fumbles for some reason. We played a bunch of level 50s with my 32 linemen, and my strength DT managed 7 tackles and a hurry. Agility got me a tackle, on a reverse pancake of all things.

Too bad really, agility DEs and strength DTs seem like the only way to do it right now. Or maybe my strength DE and agility DT just suck.

I think this is probably accurate. I noticed that strength was big on DTs as well. The only exception is DTs (typically NTs) with high agility vs. Cs (and sometimes OGs) with low agility/speed.

Yesterday in Pro leagues I looked at sack numbers and the average sack % from 5 pro leagues was less than 2.5% of pass plays.

Also, I didn't have much success with my 111 agility, 82 strength, 80 speed DT against a pretty crappy OG build yesterday. I'm going to try him at 95 strength, 101 agility, 79 speed in next preseason game. I'm not buying level 48 upgrades until I decide whether to sell 2 agility pieces or 2 strength pieces.

Something that I think needs to be mentioned is that none of the NTs or DTs in that game had any VAs. 15 Heavyweight + JTS could've (and likely would've) made a MASSIVE difference.

I can't tell which setup on my DT is better this season yet (and it looks like pass blocking may be overhauled before season begins anyway)

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_game_log.pl?player_id=980363 - here are the 2 games
The first is with 111/82/80 agility/strength/speed. The second is with 101/95/79 agility/strength/speed.

He does get 3 sacks in the 2nd game, but one is bugged OL blocking, and the other 2 he gets a great jump up the middle.

This is LG in first game

LG from 2nd

I think the last change was a further nerf.

Today
2.4% for EEPL. 34 sacks on 1396 pass plays.
3.3% for WEPL in the 13 non gut job games. 37 out of 1121.
1.7% for SEAPL in the 15 non gut games. 24 out of 1421.

DTs are pretty much getting shut out completely at Pro/WL level.

2% is about 1 per game for 40-45 plays. Seems reasonable to me.
