Wow after reading thru all the announcement that Bort made, I couldn't think of a more horrible idea that he's come up with. How f'ing retarded would having coaches, at any level, be. All it would be as someone mentioned is the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Guys who have been playing forever have a huge advantage since anyone who has been around usually has a good network of agents they know. You'll just see a round-robin of people putting coaches on their/friends team for the benefits. I'm baffled anything this stupid is even considered...

yeah, exactly. this will just ruin the game.
and you must be pissed about this. you almost swore!

This has no business in the game at all that I can see, but I mainly do Pee Wee only. It definitely has no place in Pee Wee.

LOL yeah DMFD. This reminds me of some of the "fixes" Blizzard would make to WoW back when I used to play. It's not needed, doesn't help anything, and if anything only hurts things, not helps. If Bort wants people to stay interested, without having to deal with players, they'll buy teams or just cord.

Absolutely no need for it in peewee.

I tell you why I think Bort is going a head with it in general... he's found a way to stem all those initial players retiring their early season guys and living on recycled flex [we don't know how much its going to cost to keep your player and turn him into a coach (unless he announced it since his initial TBD), but I dare say it will be a substantial chunk so he can keep them buying new FPs], hence the need for the big bonuses/rewards given to teams coaches (so players actually keep/convert to coaches and take the flex hit).

I've become very cynical of late that Bort is more of a business man that a football purist (so additions are about improving the bottom line and revenue generation/protection at the expense of bettering the game). IMO.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, its still a great game that I love! ...its just a better business model than game though.

Agreed Thunder. Being a business major myself I'm fully aware that Bort needs to make money for his time and to keep this going and upgrading it. But ruining the game play is going to hurt his bottom line when everyone leaves because the coach system he implements is bullshit. Seriously Bort if you do read this, how about you ask about the general "feel" for the "improvment" or implementation before you just announce it and make it feel set in stone.

Basically, coaches will give you a larger loss then profit Bort, think about it.

Thing is, when you retire someone to be a coach, you still get the 70% of flex back. It is going to cost money to convert them to coaches, but I'm guessing no more than 400 flex.

The only people this benefits are people who've been playing a long long time and who boost their players.......Any unboosted players wouldn't lose flex.....I think this wrinkle really would detract from the game at all levels.....If there's really a complaint from people who've been building their players a long time, why not reduce the "age" penalty......have players start losing their attributes after 15-20 seasons instead of 10.

I don't think anybody plays this game because it is a super realistic simulation of the nfl or football in general.

Yeah, i think 15 is more suitable. Because look at Vick, he's been in the NFL 10 years [(Really only eight because of prison) (He's now like 32)] and he's making a comeback and they think he'll be almost as good as before. For that statement to be made, we'll have to see, but the point is, players are still reallly good beyond 10 years. For example, T.O. (Even though he's got a big mouth, he's arguably one of the best WRs ever), Torry Holt (Dude's like 40 now) and Brett Favre (Don't need an explanation, do I?)

this.

We are yet to give the rl coaches the controls they need and we're gonna make a whole nother class of player to screw with the sim even more. Vet points were still causing problems last season, how many seasons are going to get jacked up by all the crazy bonuses coaches are putting on?

Coaches are a cute Idea, but totally unnecessary, and this implementation is ridiculous.

It's just a bad Idea.
