That doesn't necessarily mean that blitz doesn't work. Could be that blitz on that DT has never fired even once...doesn't mean it can't be a good SA.

blitz doesnt need to "fire", it is always active (when passrushing). bort said so. thats why the bonus is smaller than for tunwl vision, which indeed does have to "fire".

I believe that's incorrect. Blitz is not active when there is no blitz, iirc.

I have a level 45 NT with 82 strength, 110 agility, 78 speed, 3 shed block and 4 blitz that has 22 tackles and 4 sacks in a league where he is usually outleveled.

He even got one against Octowned's team.

I do recall Bort saying Blitz worked on every play that someone rushed the passer. It just sounds like it only works on blitz plays because of the wording in the description - when you send the CB in.

Against "Libertas Guardians," who are a creampuff opponent, my RDE had 0 sacks. Look at these phenomenal plays he made on the LOT! (sarcasm):

The other DE on my team, "Stoplight Smith" is doing MUCH better for himself. He uses NO blitz, but has stocked up on both Shed Block (6) and Tunnel Vision (10). He's doing awesome with 21 sacks so far this season:

Now I will admit, I'm playing at RDE and Stoplight is at LDE, so I'm up against LOT's w/ Protect and he isn't, but come on... ONE SACK? I agree... Blitz sucks and I'd go so far as to say Bort is wrong about it working. Either that or he doesn't know how his own game works. My DE is the proof in the pudding. He's playing in the minor leagues too. WHY is he not putting up big numbers? If Blitz is as good as people say it is, I expected better from it.

I'm still amazed anyone ever thought that picking up this SA was a good idea for a DE.

Conventional wisdom GLB style.

What's next? A speedster WR that looks for Change Direction AE?

That is a huge problem with a DE. Blitz is basically TV but it is active whenever you are pass rushing. TV doesn't always fire when you are pass rushing.

Saying you put everything in blitz and neglected all the other SAs, is like expecting a DE to do well with only the TV SA.

Well I'll have it at 10 in one more level, but so far I've been unimpressed.

Are you sure Tunnel Vision is the same as blitz though? I heard Tunnel Vision's bonus is bigger. Yea granted Tunnel Vision has to fire off, but I think I'd rather have a good bonus sometimes than a weak bonus always.

His agility is WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too low. My level 17 DT already has 98.72 Agility, and you only have 100 at level 51.
