Wow, I feel lucky as hell to have SV piece. I just made a new CB and thanks to this thread I'm going to dread looking for his AEQ, lol

I'd roll around level 20. I'm going to on my third CB. Because it's no better in the 30s and I found my SV piece pretty quick then.

Still getting nothing. Got a sweet +strong base +break block piece. It came with two +not fumble pieces. Ugh which sweet item do I buy??? Decisions, decisions.

edit: which reminds me, is it this bad because CBs also play PR/KR? They get all the break tackle, break block, fake, avoid fake, force fumble, not fumble, make tackle, etc etc pieces. Pretty much everything a piece can come with is something CBs could use (if they play PR/KR) so maybe that's why there's so much garbage for the ones that are just playing defense: most of them.

Better stuff more likely - Everything is available at first, just the %s slowly move off the shitty stuff and toward the good stuff as you level up

More stuff becomes available - As you level up, more and more is unlocked.

Combine those two theories at will...

Based on your build - Basically replace "level up" with "as your bars go up" in the above theories

My personal opinion, though only partially grounded in evidence is...

As you level up, more and more stuff becomes available. You start with ALL of the out of position SAs, and as you level up slowly 2% turns into 3% into 5%, +1 into +2 into +3, and more and more SAs become available along your tree. My theory extends to say that things don't become more LIKELY, simply become POSSIBLE. So as you unlock more and more, you'll still get all the junk, but some of the good stuff is possible, too.

My evidence/opinions stem from

1) This is much, much easier to code than shifting %s away from low and toward high. It simply allows Bort to add to your item list, and randomly draw from them with a few restrictions like no two SAs together, etc.
2) When you start out, you get out of position SAs like crazy, but then start seeing them less and less. This is evidence of the group of items possible growing, not the items themselves becoming less likely relative to others.
3) Building my o-line, I'll find basically only run block / pass block / get low early on. Then cut block, shock block start to show up, then finally protect and pancake etc.

What my theory lends itself to is

1) wait until you are level 30+ (this is when I start to see the last SAs and +3s)
2) if you want an out of position piece, FIND IT EARLY. Chances are, it will come with nothing attached. But that could be better than waiting 2 seasons to get it down the road when your rolls will be stuffed with crap you don't care about.

For example, rolling for my FB at level 7 I got first step, first step, route run, dive for yards, return specialist ALL THE TIME but never anything in the tree. They were basically all blank, sometimes +1, and I said what the hell I'll pick up two first step.

I'd say worth getting even without the att bonus. Being at the end of the tree makes it very expensive SP wise to boost. If nothing else buy it and if you decide to continue shopping and a SDC w/attribute comes along later, just sell this one.

I got lucky 3 seasons ago with my +3 agility and 5% int chance. But ever since that I only got crap eq.

I've seen that post, but I really don't consider +5% not fumble chance much better than +2%. Corners just have too many damn possibilities that getting super vision alone is rare, let alone super vision with something else worthwhile that isn't, say, +5% not fumble.

Keep that SDC. I pray for that piece.

In other words, I think CBs have so much in position stuff because they're PRs/KRs, and that stuff becomes more common at higher levels as Bort said, that it's actually worse than the smaller list of options at lower levels because that list still includes +SV or +SDC, at least, and not a flood of mostly useless +% items.

% values don't go up strictly like Octowned is implying. I just rolled and got a +5%, +3%, and +2% value on the three pieces. Adding the 5% piece at higher levels clearly doesn't take away the smaller ones, even if it supposedly eats into their frequency.

Oh well... I'll keep rolling on them both.

+3 jumping, +1 swat ball. My first +3 attribute roll. Not even considering purchasing it.

I get tease me rolls. Stuff that is good (assuming that the above piece is good), but just not good enough imo.

Been rolling for this entire season and half previous season for 5 corners, and still haven't got a single good piece of equipment.
