at times, but it is the GLB and character judgement is thrown out the window since thats all everyone on here is...a character!I wanted to do more for this week, but I kinda was waiting to see if the "KKK" shit would be edited out like it was (wisely imo) last time it popped up here, so I'll just say my piece and we'll meet you on the field tomorrow. Speaking for me personally, I'll say I've learned a lot from the Mighthawks over the seasons about how to help build a successful team, and I can say I'm not sure we would have got up here to Pro without learning from that season in A5. Stuff like networking, maintaining a active forum presence, keeping a solid core of active agents that enjoy being a part of the team, etc. I think I even thanked you in my final Kampfire when we promoted out of A5 without saying why, but that was why.
We spent two seasons in a pretty chill A5 being patted on the head for "upsets" and "moral victories", the afterthought, tag-along little brother of teams like the Yell, the Millens, Manus, Samoa, and the Ballers. The Mighthawks came into A5 in season 4 as the best team in the league (sorry Hollywood), dead set on taking over the league and the forums while wielding a terrible, capricious mod like a weapon. For me, and I suspect most of the team, that was a wakeup call that we were going to have to get tough or die. So we took up arms, gave what we got if not more, and even though that once-enjoyable forum was a nightmare for that season, I'd like to think we were cutting off the foot to save the leg. If we hadn't stood up to Janine and by proxy the Mighthawks, she would have been in there editing out Pat's Sportscenter posts to say "LOL MIGHTHAWKS RULEZ

" or some such shit by week 8. We went over-the-top at times, but I think the ends justified the means.
And after we went through all that, recruiting got a lot easier for us. People were contacting us wanting to join the team based on the Great Mod War, both in our networks and teams we knew from our league, and I personally realized, "holy shit, we can get recruits by goofing around on the forums!?!?!". We promoted out of A5 the next season, winning the West, then went 15-1 in AA and promoted out of AA3 before we even got there (the Mighthawks did the same.) We struggled for a couple of years in AAA, but when the Yell disbanded, most of the players from that team that we could fit in actually chose us as their team of choice, and we haven't looked back since.
So yeah, that's why this game is important to me. It's a measuring stick for us, because we've tried to take to good parts of the model for a championship team you guys demonstrated back in A5 when we didn't know how to build one, and figure out how to apply our strengths (being funny) to that model. I think it's been pretty succesful for both of us, and that's why it was such a big deal for me when we finally beat you in AAA (I think I said as much on the forums.) I have a lot of respect for you NWWarrior, and most of your team, guys like Jakemall and Tinker Bell and Chavezwhatever are great agents. But, yeah, that's my spiel. Good luck on the permafrost tomorrow, hopefully the best team will win.
