Actually, I like this thread Mob-6. Cutler looked fucking SICK vs the Giants(it's preseason and doesn't mean anything, I know) BUT I get what you are saying 100%. Chicago has NEVER had a franchise QB unless you count Sid Luckman. If Cutler wins a Super Bowl for the Bears he will become a legend...although I don't think he will topple Jordan with just 1 ring, I could see it happening. Bears fans are that hungry for a real QB and a Super Bowl....if your not a fan you really just can't understand the QB misery we've dealt with.

If Cutler wins more than 1 Super Bowl, he will be immortalized as Chicago's greatest athlete ever most likely. I also feel Payton and Ditka are greater than Jordan for Chicago fans, but that could just be me. I've always felt from what i've read that Chicago is a football town. When I went out there, I got that same feeling. People would talk baseball(it was on) but if you even mentioned the Bears the baseball game was forgotten. Maybe I just got the right fans tho (I HATE baseball)

see my buddy from Chicago and his friends that came up are an entirely different story. It would take at least a pair of superbowls on Cutlers back alone to surpass Jordan as far as appreciation alone. As far as QB hell goes...everyone should take the Chicago Bears QB quiz...cant remember where it was...papaschnay would know...even die hard Bears fans couldnt name the last 15 or so Chicago QB's. It was pretty funny.

No. To be bigger than the Sox win theyd have to go 0-3 to their biggest rivals who have thwarted them every year forever (which they dont have - the Cards I guess are closest) in the NLCS and dramatically steal a base off of the greatest closer ever in order to tie things in the bottom of the ninth in the fourth game. Then they would need their ace to play despite the fact that hes injured and visibly bleeding on the mound. Then they have to win the thing.

Wont happen.

OK, well I don't live in Chicago so I don't know, but if you guys ever fucking say that Cutler is greater than Michael Jordan, know that your city will be considered the dumbest in the United States and will be the butt of jokes for decades. Seriously, you'd have to be mentally retarded to believe that, even if he DOES win a SB ring or two.

Isn't this country great? When people can admit they have no clue and don't know, but then comment on something anyway? And then for extra Lols, despite the fact they still don't know, call people mentally retarded if they disagree with a point they themselves already admit not having a clue about. We salute you Mr. Real Man of Genius.

Michael Jordan is one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game. The Bears nearly won a superbowl with Rex Grossman at the helm recently. This really isnt rocket science.

Michael Jordan's accomplishments:

* 6× NBA Champion (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998)
* 5× NBA MVP (1988, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1998)
* 14× NBA All-Star (1985-1993, 1996-1998, 2002-2003)
* 6× NBA Finals MVP (1991-1993, 1996-1998)
* 1× NBA Defensive Player of the Year (1988)
* 10× All-NBA First Team Selection (1987-1993, 1996-1998)
* 1× All-NBA Second Team Selection (1985)
* 9× NBA All-Defensive First Team Selection (1988-1993, 1996-1998)
* 1985 NBA Rookie of the Year
* 1985 NBA All-Rookie Team
* 3× NBA All-Star Game MVP (1988, 1996, 1998)
* 2× NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner (1987, 1988)
* 2x Gold Medal Winner in the Olympics (1984,1992)
* NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team
* 1× NCAA Men's Basketball Champion (1982)
* 1982 ACC Freshman of the Year
* 1× ACC Men's Basketball Player of the Year (1984)
* 1× USBWA College Player of the Year (1984)
* 1× Naismith College Player of the Year (1984)
* 1× John R. Wooden Award (1984)
* 1× Adolph Rupp Trophy (1984)
* 1991 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year
* 2000 ESPY Athlete of the Century
* 1990s ESPY Male Athlete Decade Award
* 1990s ESPY Pro Basketballer Decade Award

Jay Cutler's accomplishments:

* The Sporting News third-team freshman All-American (2002)
* Associated Press first-team freshman All-SEC (2002)
* First-team All-SEC (2005)
* SEC Offensive Player of the Year (2005)
* Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award finalist (2005)
* Pro Bowl selection (2008)

Adding one or two superbowls will not eclipse Jordan by any means.
