Carrying, then work on Stamina and Confidence.

I wouldn't waste time on Cover Up.

you wouldn't put 2 SP in it, once carrying was 2nd capped?

Not if I had somewhere else to spend those 2sp. I don't think 2 in Cover Up will make an ounce of difference.

On what are you basing this?

A couple points in CU will not stop the bleeding. Trust me, I know. Only likely to get it to coagulate a little. Taurran is right, Stamina (like I said) and Confidence are bigger issues.

Experience in it not doing shit?

Seeing HB's with 7+ in Cover Up still fumbling constantly?

Interesting. My experience is somewhat different. I've noticed that with soft capped carrying, on mid level teams, 2 in cover up could make a 3 fumble a game player a 2 fumble a game player. But that was a couple seasons ago.

But it could be the back's lack of carrying, stamina and confidence that causes it.

If you have all those then you probably won't need Cover Up.

cover up is worth getting at least to 2-3. Not really a SA you want to sink to many points into but not having any is asking for trouble.

best way to get back to not fumbling is wait for them to nerf power tackler.

Cover up, like diving tackle and wrap-up tackle, are underrated by slow builders IMO.

People will triple cap tackling but keep wrap-up at 0. Bort has said in the forums that one in wrap-up is noticably better than two points of tackling, which could mean more than 3, more than 4. Probably not more than 5 but it's only for non-diving tackles so who knows? But it's a good example of Bort confirming that a flat bonus SA isn't useless compared to one more point of an attribute.

It's the dude's last season. He's not looking to hit any caps anymore. There are no more SP payoffs. Bort didn't program the bonus to be so small that one point of carrying does more for fumble prevention than one point of cover up. He wants to stop fumbles, or cut them down (because it would be retarded to be able to never fumble). Cover Up is the better choice.

Maybe that's just faith but it seems pretty damn reasonable to me.

OP, how is your confidence & stamina? Those both factor in as well. Other than that it's just shitty luck. My RB went like 5 seasons without a fumble so I started bragging about it and since then he's had like 6 fumbles in the last 10 games.

lol, I've had 9 fumbles in the past 6 games. Not including scrimmages and pre-season either. Moving up to pro's from AAA made me go from playing guys that were 5-6 levels higher on average to 10-11 levels higher on average.

Agreed though. Stamina/Confidence are huge when you start playing against better players.

Carrying and Cover Up are both important.
I was averaging one fumble a game with CoverUp at 2.
It dropped to .5 fumbles a game with CoverUp at 4.
It is now at 6 and I have fumbled one time this season.

During the period above, my Carry was a constant at 62. So CoverUp is the reason I reduced the fumbles.
