Real good!

- find a DC that doesn't use the SS in cover 2 all game - but blitz him and play him close to the line.

- get a little less vision (60), jumping (30-40) and skip catching - but build up a lot of strength and tackling (agility and speed to 68 cap anyway) - then build up Big and Monster Hit along with Sure Tackler, Power Tackler and Helmet Crash... and play him on power tackling

I would take the +3 tackling, FF+3% for an SS.

Just to add this to any debate on what makes a good piece for an SS. I was rolling for a LONG time to get any piece to come up with a useful SA on it. Finally went for a piece with +2 Agility and + 1 Change Direction SA. With upgrades to +3 Change Direction this piece has made a huge difference to my SS this season. He wasn't slow built and was never in the top half of players at his position in his Conference. Since this AEQ piece he is now the #1 SS in the Conference (his team having just been promoted). Now, not only is he changing direction quickly and closing in better for more PDs and an Interception, but he is also lining himself up better to make tackles more square on and so the Big Hit tackle SA is firing more often, and so Forced Fumbles are up too. Am well happy with this AEQ.

So would recommend buying AEQ that is +1 Change Direction? I already have two pieces of AEQ (+1 Closing Speed and +1 Swat Ball) and don't know I can fully upgrade the Change Direction for some time.

The rule of thumb is that unless you have at least 16 bonus tokes to upgrade a piece, you don't equip it and go with the basic +4 Attribute. Personally I wouldn't equip a second piece until I had 32 bonus tokens to upgrade it.

I think it depends on what the bonus cost would be plus what the boost to your performance actually is. For example, If the +1 Change Direction would cost you 3 skill points and the + 1 Attribute would cost you 4 skill points, then the attribute bonus would be worth more. However, a change from 4 to 5 points in Change Direction is going to add more to your performance than moving from 59 to 60 in Agility.

Anyway, all I am really pointing out in my original post is that Change Direction might be a bit underrated for Strong Safeties. Boosting it up with AEQ has made a huge difference to my safety.

For fritopia - I think that if I was you I would probably stick with boosting the two pieces of AEQ (Closing Speed and Swat Ball). With those two, your need for Change Direction is less than mine.
