Thanks DC I found out. I need to become a Mod but don't think I have the time nor the etiquette or ability to follow forum rules (which I've never read...)

EDIT: I just read up on it, and how the code even started. Apparerntly, invented by a tester who found Gradius too difficult to play during testing. So he created the cheat cod and it made it's way into the original Gradius game. And subsequently found it's way into many Konami games.

That's interesting, I can't believe Gradius was the game that spawned the code, and that a tester would have thought that game was too difficult. Maybe it was near impossible in the early stages due to some bad design, but Gradius overall was a very short game, it didn't even have that many stages to it. Even if you had trouble dying early, it was pretty simple to pin down the precise areas or way that you would die making it pretty easy to circumvent the next time. Oh and LifeForce FTW, that game was a lot more fun! :

I loved that movie! Anytime you have a movie about video games I'm interested LOL. Billy Mitchell is an interesting character, love him or hate him. But I don't see how you could watch that movie and not be rooting for Steve, he seems like such a likable guy.

My number 1 gripe for video games in the movies was the Final Fantasy movie. I was absolutely crushed when I saw that piece of garbage that had nothing to do with FF. For years I used to say that a FF movie would be such a cool idea for a movie, but I was expecting it would be an adaptation of what it is like to actually play the game and see things play out in live action, i.e. you would have characters going around town trying to get info, you'd have to battle monsters and gain level ups and figure out where to assign them, buy weapons/armor, and decide on various characters along the way on them joining the party etc. etc. etc. When the FF movie was announced I was sooo excited and didn't want to know anything about it until I saw it, and when it started playing I was just in utter shock the whole time. That was easily the most disappointing movie I have ever seen in my life.

Although I am softened to it at this point considering that pretty much everything I treasured as a kid has been turned into garbage on the big-screen. I am not going to see GI Joe after some bogus trailers that just make it look absolutely stupid. Which is just pathetic. When I saw the very first teaser trailer it actually looked kind of cool, but now they have released more scenes and trailers and I think I get the gist of this movie and it looks like a potential crap factory. Did anybody see the clip on Conan last night? Marlon Wayans is apparently a comedic imbecile in the movie, and that's somehow supposed to make it funny? I wasn't laughing last night when Wayans said "there's a manual for this thing?" Good grief.

I also always wanted to see a Zelda movie, and one was just recently made but only shown in Georgia so far I think. Has anybody seen that or know if that video is available anywhere on the net?

Haha that FF movie was such crap. It was like Dragonball Z with Final Fantasy characters. And all the sudden all the characters could fly. I dunno, it was just a dumb movie. Although I do think a movie based exactly on how you play would be pretty boring. You'd want to see Cloud going around towns to get info, leveling up, equipping materia, etc? I don't think that would make for a very interesting movie. Although I do agree it could have been so much better. It pretty much wasn't even based on the game at all.

You sir, are a bastard! lol I want to go watch that trailer SOOOO bad! But I'm at work and I can't! Arrgghh! It's almost as bad as having to wait to spend my SP's!

BTW I agree that FF movie was dog doo doo. I wish they could have made a good movie. I too thought the story line of the game would make for a great movie. I am a sci-fi tool I have to admit. I miss new Stargate episodes. I can't wait for Stargate Universe in October. But I am afraid it will be garbage as well.

Speaking of Dragonball Did you guys see Evolution? It was totally off base from the storyline. Ridiculous! If I had never seen the Dragonball/Z/GT series or been a fan of it I might have thought the movie was ok but I haven't. I wish they would just make 1 movie that goes with the exact storyline in the anime scene by scene and it would be great. I would love to see the entire Namek series collapsed into one live action movie that would be awesome! 3 hour movie but it would be great!

A curious question. I know there are quite a few of you in here. Galk, Hazy, Darth, Made, etc. Does Bort pay you in FP's? Do you actually get anything other than a few simple abilities for being a Mod? I am just curious. If you can't answer then that's ok. I know this isn't the right spot for this so after you answer me you can lock my thread

Hate to get you galactic nerds back on point, but Mod's get FPs. However it isn't per day. They are on piece rate. Everytime they lock a thread or ban a player..... 75 flex points.

Well how I explained it in words is far different than how I visually conceptualize it. But in my mind it would be freaking awesome, you could have a scene or two that involve some cool summon scenes, and just a slew of ideas you could come up with that the characters could go through during their quest that have FF tie-ins.

For example, say you wanted to have a character die in the movie. Well rather than die just any way, I would create something that would be identifiable with the nature of how you would die in a FF world, so maybe there's a battle and your mage out of desperation has to cast a sacrifice spell to save the party, so the character would go out but in a FF-style fashion, not some other way that could happen in any other movie.

Or take weapons shops for example. Well in the video game it doesn't really make sense why a guy is sitting behind a desk 24/7 waiting to sell expensive weapons, and then in the game if you are desperate why can't you just kill the guy and take his stuff? The game doesn't allow you to do that. So I would adapt the concept of a weapons shop in such a way where it is explained why you couldn't just kill the merchant, there's some kind of merchant code that has a layer of story to it, and that would actually satisfy FF gamers retroactively in a way when it is all tied together on why these merchants exist and why you have to play by their rules or what not. If you use your imagination you can take all kinds of FF-specific elements and build a really neat story around them in a live action fantasy world.

And ideas like that for different parts of the movie you could come up with all kinds of stuff. It's just my way of saying that the movie should have some freaking FF elements, whereas if you didn't know the title of that crappy FF movie you would never have had any reason to guess it was associated with FF in any way. It was just such an abortion.

I've never been too big of a fan of Dragonball. They would talk for like 15 minutes, then fight for 2 minutes, then it would be about 15 more minutes of talking.
