The guy needs glasses without a doubt. The ball was piched to the back right in front of him, and the RB ran just 3-4 yards away from him with the ball. The DE had the Dwight Freeney mentality: I'll tackle the QB or nobody!

Find me a failed vision check on him

How'd he find the QB?

Also, comparing the vision of a lvl 53 to a lvl 27 isn't even an argument.
Honestly, just watch the replay of that game and marvel in his ability to pancake RT's & TE's on a regular basis. It's truly fascinating... it won't show up on the box score, but it's a beautiful thing.

They both have 17 vision. So now crawl back to you're hole.

ahh I remember what play you're talking about probably. Actually it's not vision, it's just sending the opposing QB a message!

those plays are obvious passing plays... the one I posted is a rushing play. ENTIRELY different. Also, Charm's main job isn't to get to the QB. If he's in there during a pass play sure... but he was built for a different purpose. DE's don't really need vision early on and I guess you feel they don't need vision at all. If that's how you roll than that's how you roll... but don't be surprised if your DE does the same BS on a pitch like Charm did.

This guy is for getting to the QB (Charmed isn't)...

Hey, that is what tunnel vision gets you..... Hey, at least he hit the QB. You are right vision is important in a lot of ways.

A little more reading might effect a broader understanding of the English language.

But we don't really want you to change your trollish affect, so never mind.

Vision on a DE is useful for 3 things:

1. For defending against the run so that you don't get faked out as easily by the back and you don't do stupid things like in the replay given.

2. For jumping the snap. It has been confirmed by Bort that there is a vision check to see if a DE is able to jump the snap.

3. For certain types of pass rushing. If your DE just tries to go around the edge every play, then vision is not as nessesary. However, to have a good inside rushing move, then good vision is very important so that the DE is able to quickly see the inside gap in the offensive line.

As the agent of three OTs though, please keep ignoring vision guys

Description for Jump the Snap VA:

Jump the Snap
This player is aggressive off the defensive line. Each level of Jump the Snap gives a +3% bonus to the vision check required to get off the line quickly, but a 1% increase in the chance of jumping offsides and getting called for encroachment.

Arrogance when you can be proven wrong is not a smart strategy.

Proven wrong? Just because Bort says something, doesn't mean it does something. If you look at all the VA's, and add them to you're players. You'll notice almost all of them are full of shit.

Affect, then effect. It's such a pet peeve for me. Almost everyone in the entire world, who speaks the English language, has no idea how to use either of them correctly.

The you would know that, psychologically speaking, moods are spoken of in terms of affect?

Affect and effect can both be properly used as both nouns and verbs, but not interchangably
