Eh ... I dunno about that. Certainly USAPL will have more teams that can really compete in the World League (as compared to the other Pro regions) but top to bottom, I personally believe the World League is going to be better. The good news is that the worst 16 teams invited to the Season 11 World League will get demoted and two of 'em are going to get the chance to play in USAPL for the first time.

By the start of Season 13 (barring guts), I'd be surprised if 7 (or 8) USAPL representatives weren't in the World League.

World League will be easier to make the playoffs, but harder to win IMO.

I personally think the world league will be better than USA Pro next season. We're losing 4 of our best teams. World league has some DAMN good teams in it outside of the US like Drygerian, Marblehead, Drinkin, Bonn, Santiago, Krazy. Those teams I think would all make the playoffs in the current USA Pro we have. The other teams are not anything too special, but I still think they're better than our non-playoff teams. So maybe the top 16 vs top 16 might be close, but after that, I gotta go with the World League.

It is called the World League. It is not called the Champions League. A World League consists of the best teams from each region of the world. It doesn't mean that the best teams in all of GLB will be playing in the League. It just means the best of each region. So I have no problem with each region getting 2 teams into the league. I don't know where people made the assumption that the World League has to be the Best teams in all of GLB. Quite honestly there could be some AAA teams that could compete for the best team in all of GLB. So for all of those that have been cussing the World League realize what a "World League" is.

This, pretty much.

We don't need a World League, we need a Champions League. My main gripe has been it's absolute foolishness if Bort's going to allow it to be 4 per region to start with, and then let it become unbalanced in the future. If that's the case, don't even bother putting 8-10 lousy teams who couldn't beat 2/3 of the USAPL's teams right now up there. All you're doing is taking away from natural selection GLB style.

the top end of the World League will unquestionably be better. I definitely agree. and it would be silly to think otherwise. The top 8-10 teams will be world class, OFG/WW/MM caliber or better.

Overall quality 1-32 though? Might be debatable.

this

When I look at our potential conference, Drygeria, Marblehead and the Monkeys stand out. I'm pretty confident we can go at least 14-2 next season.

The other conference will be a slaughterhouse though. Santiago, Monmouth, Honolulu, Emmaus, Drinkin, Windhoek, Bonn.

Jesus...

Where did you find this line up of conferences?

Wait, so usapl gets random teams from other pro leagues? I thought we were just gonna send them back where they came from and not bump as many AAA teams up. There are always 2-4 guts in every pro league so i don't even think you'd have to stop any AAA teams. It'd just be the wpl teams replacing the guts.

Pretty sure the demotion plan hasn't been chosen officially yet. Bort's last announcement says it'll be posted in the offseason.
I'm expecting teams to go back to the region they came from, but then again I was expecting Bort to just do the world league rather than announce some formal tournament, so my expectations aren't worth much.

Pro league automatically demote their bottom 4 teams and bring up the 4 AAA conf winners.

You promote the 2 conf winners of pro league to world league.

At most, 4 teams from a lesser league like OPL will all be demoted from WPL back down to OPL the first season.

So there are only 2 spots you need to account for and i'm pretty sure there will be 2 guts in most pro leagues to account for that.

After the first WPL season, leagues like OPL will only have 2 teams in WPL most every season (unless 1 can make the playoffs or however they're doing it) so you won't need to worry about it.

I dunno. It'd be nice if bort figured this out awhile ago

If Bort goes that route, there will likely be some pretty pissed off people. I know if Cincy got demoted, I'd be pissed about being shuffled off to anywhere but USA Pro. Of course, the one-for-one trade (former OPL team demotes, top OPL team promotes) may not be much better. One of the many things that still needs to be hashed out before a World League is ever implemented.

Going to OPL just means that you'll be back at WPL faster, not going to complain.

Not really going to be any harder than the current USAPL. Probably have to beat someone like MM first round, WW second round and MEM third round, Cincy in the finals. Same ol' four game gauntlet.

after a few seasons of WPL, it will prolly be USAPL as the other regions phase out.

They probably could of ran the table, look what CCC did out of Oceania and the playoffs. Well maybe not but you could of at least done that in OPL.
