Dang Mauer only getting 5. I was hoping to at least see him for 2 rounds.

Good times. Fielder is ridiculous. I saw a lot of McGwire's HRs in his final few years, but Fielder's bomb to right center may have beat them all. That Cruz kid was something else too. Best part about seeing it live is I don't have to listen to Berman's blubbering ass saying "back back back back....GONE!" over and over. Not sure if it was worth $300, but it's was probably the 2nd coolest baseball game I've seen (first is the last game at the old Busch Stadium which was amazing).

Hope no one needs me to be productive at work today. Had a little too much fun downtown afterwards.

He started hitting all those long shots and everyone in our group looked at each other and asked "Who the fuck is this kid!?!" I had never even heard of him until last night. Looks like a future star for the Rangers.

I take it you're from Missouri? Both of my parents are from MO and I was just up there a month or so ago for my grandmother's funeral service in St. Joseph.

What's that BBQ joint in KC? Best ribs I'd ever had by far.

Illinois actually. I'm right across the river from STL.

Last BBQ place I ate at in KC was Corky's I think...or maybe that was Memphis. Either way...good shit.

Which one?

Arthur Bryant's, KC Masterpiece, Gates, Jack Stack, and Winslow's are the big ones. I am from the St Louis area, but lived in KC for 6 years.

Albert just looked out of gas last night and could not really get going. Hopefully people remember that he played in a double header in Chicago the day before.

Derby needs to be shorten to 2 hours TBH.

I can't remember the name of the place off hand but none of those sound familiar. Maybe Oklahoma Joe's? Something like that. It was in Men's Health recently has a top place to eat before you die.

The BBQ sauce was far different than anything down in Texas but those ribs were damned good. The brisket was nothing to write home about but loved the ribs and chopped pork

Edit - This was it. . . . . http://www.oklahomajoesbbq.com/

Corky's would be Memphis BBQ. Definitely good, but no where near the best Memphis has to offer. Damn you all make me want to go back home for a week or so now...

It was definitely true what they say about KC BBQ vs. Texas BBQ. I think we absolutely spend more focus on brisket than they do in KC. Likewise, pulled pork and pulled pork sandwhiches aren't that common down here. We do a chopped brisket sandwhich that is very popular.

The whole argument of what BBQ is better is kinda pointless to me as, having had both, they're both damn good just unique to the region.

meh...i doubt the double header killed him much...i just dont think he has the will to dig down deep like Fielder did when you get gassed. Fielder looked like he was done in that last round...and then you just seen him send his entire weight into everything which made everything just a moon shot...fun times.

Mauer kinda sucked it up...I would have rather seen Morneau in there if I knew he was going to suck like that.

Too bad Hamilton was hurt. He would've really helped the AL out. Other than Cruz, their guys sucked. lol

I thought Morneau was in it until they introduced Mauer. Mauer's a contact hitter, not a power guy. I guess if no one else wanted to do it though...
