More speed the better.

CB's seem to be doing fine with 90 speed. Why should your LB have more?
he is fat and speed may not mean the same for him. 100 speed at LB may only = 85 speed at CB

He weighs about 50 lbs more
Agreed, but he shouldn't be having to run with WR's. Pumping LB's up just reinforces bad defensive schemes. LBs should be fast enough to get into the flats to cover the outside run and cover the TE till they enter the SS/FS zone.

then you should be set..
Too common imo
If i were to build a LB i'd go
90 Speed 80 Agility 75 tackling 75 strength
That would be a mlb though ofc
too common, possibly, but an LB with that build will always find a job somewhere

Remember that most pass catching HBs will also have Scat Back, meaning they're 15% faster when used as receivers.

You do that and you become extremely predictable defensively. I don't know any good DC who always leaves his SS in Cover 2.

The DC that controls Deadpool could.

Well, I guess it depends on how you look at it. I use the SS and FS at the line quite a bit, but I still believe you should have 3 levels of defense (unless the team you scout is running the same few plays over and over). If I really want more speed on the field, I'd rather just use the nickle or dime. The LB starts with 10 speed, so trying to make them a 100 speed reduces the skill point value of the build overall. It would make more sense to sign extra CB's and less LB's, if people believe in pure speed defenses. The nickle CB at a 100 speed will have more overall SP's than a LB with 100 speed, and will end up being the better build.

If player weight counted for anything, there would be no 180 Lb power backs.

Try playing dime as a base defense and see how that works out for you. The reality is that if you have a bunch of 80-90 speed LBs then you're going to get burned not only in the passing game, but also on outside runs.

Yep, this is unfortunately the case.
Hell, even with LB's over 100-110, you will still get burnt occasionally by HB/TE/FB's

Dime is very strong, actually....*if* you have all 8 or so of the GLB CBs who are built to really run it well
(Hint: Recruit Painmakers guys first)
