I would much rather try to win, but lose, than lose without doing everything I could to get our team the win. In the first instance you just tip your hat to the other team and try again in two days. But if you didn't coordinate or set tactics for a game, then not only did you lose (deservedly), you also have to answer to your own team as to why you half-assed it.
Guess what. When we lost to Paris earlier this season, we tried. There is no shame in that.Well, we hired a new DC during the offseason, but it didn't work out too well - teams were picking us apart. So a few games into the season I took over as our DC again.
So yes, we WERE trying to win and having good coordinators IS the key to having a great team, so hiring the new DC was a mistake by me!
So no, we're not stupid or half-assed as you put it! I made a mistake by hiring that DC, but I'm pretty confident my team has forgiven me!
