for the strength of competition part, we've faced the probable playoff teams already. so if that's not facing strong competition, than wtf is?

also, IYDC leads the conference(not sure if updated yet but had a huge game so doubt its changed) in rushing yards and rushing TDs.

although with that said i've thought the MVP awards were a joke since after the first week they started doing the rankings. STers being in the D MVP rankings made me lose all interest in them.

either you guys or krungthep for hardest 8 game stretch. but i think they mean teams that are actually competitve with you, even though you played the best teams you beat most of them by 30+

Not Duluth? We have only 2 playoff teams left to face. Winona and ESL.

you still have ESL which is the number 1 team. ESL only has you left i think which would be the number 8 or 9 team so its kind of different. and krungthep only has you left too...

It's only stupid if you lose jk

But Madcow, was your SS Bashem Gud your hitman? He covered me 1 on 1 most of the game, but I got a powerthrough on him.

GG though.

it doesnt exactly use "margin of victory" in the formula. its more like a "strength of schedule" component. if you score 20 TDs on the #1 team in the league it has the same impact whether you beat that team by 1 or 100. how much you win by doesnt matter, but that your team actually gets the W does matter.

the whole "strength of schedule" component will all even out by the end of the season to give a more clear picture. its purpose is just to assign a value to each performance that makes the 2 TD game against a top team more meaningful than an 8 TD game against a gut job- regardless of the margin of victory.

i dont think getting the W's has any value at all to the system...look at us at 3-7 and Ross is at the top of the list with Favre just below the HB's.

What I think he means is that when you play a team, your strength of schedule goes up, but when teams play you their SOS goes down

so the Ws and Ls matter but more on a collective scale. The better a player does vs a 'better' team, then that may have some sway in the standing vs just pure stats.

Ya.. I remember the last week of the season ESL ran Beav like 40+ times and he scored 20 some TD's and I was worried he'd over take Mack in the MVP race with those numbers but since it was against a gut team they didn't give him a jump in the standings.

Would be interesting to see the actual formula.
