Common sense often doesn't apply in GLB though.

But also this.

Vision used to be a hindrance for RBs big time. The more vision they had the more would-be tacklers they considered. They ended up dancing around scratching their heads and going nowhere. That's mostly fixed now.

when talking about possible repeated play penalties to the defense, Bort has stated that even if defensive players had 1000 vision, they still wouldn't be able to do a lot of things without the other attributes being high. On the other hand, could you imagine a player with 1000 strength/speed/agility? Those guys would be GLB gods. Just something to consider.

If your player is just going to run the play as drawn up. it isn't super important. 4 yards and a cloud of dust backs aren't really a bad thing. If you want your back to use cutback lanes or swing from the B gap to the C gap, then yes it matters. What kind of build do you want?

As everything to do with elusive backs...it depends on how good of blockers you have.

Meh, less reliant on great blocking than elusives are, but of course...better blocking always helps.

almost universally, backs need 50+ vision.

speed backs need more like 60+

This. As a short answer.

I can't decide my RBs never trained vision much less stuck points in it yet they do great playing against guys much higher level. I don't want to pump their vision up and then they start to suck because i know first hand how horrible vision was for RBs a few seasons ago.

Don't you think you need it to know when to stiff arm a guy?
Wouldn't you think you need it to know when to juke a guy?
Wouldn't you think you need it to know the right time to throw a head fake on a guy?
Wouldn't you think you need it to know when to 'Power Through' a on coming tackler?

Use common sense people.

Although I agree with you, and our team originally built our team around the concept of "common sense" for what football players needed, it was several seasons in before "common sense" changes were made (such as having agility affect speed and acceleration, or tackling actually needing to be above 25 to avoid missing tackles). These days, we take nothing for granted.

Pretty much. Unless someone built many, many, many different HBs, nobody really knows for sure. I could tell you what works really well for my HB, but there's no reason to suspect that it would work equally well for yours.

I was thinking about making my HB a lolfake type back which might require raising vision but the question is how much?

Are you taking about Pierre Thomas? If it is, I can say based on experience playing against him that he does extremely well without high vision.

I have heard that vision works good if you want to use the super elusive setting
