I agree completely. I don't get the difference in reactions at all.

they're both disgusting acts

Yeah, but so is eating poop and eating spinach. I still have a preference between the two.

Vick's thing was also premeditated. This part...

Yea he reached the agreement and the family backed off. The whole thing smells tbh. At least he accepted responsibility unlike his fellow NFL players in recent legal trouble.

Sure, but I still don't see how they're in anywhere near the same category. Apparently our legal system agrees with you, though.

So if you go out and drink and have intentions to drive afterwards, is that premeditated?

Yes, but the murder isn't. Obviously you should know that's a possibility, but calling that a premeditated crime opens up a pretty big can of worms.

Not in our legal system.

Not to justify Stallworth, because he's a p.o.s. - but wasn't the guy he hit illegally crossing the street where he got nailed at? I know he wasn't in a crosswalk, and wherever he was running across had a 40mph limit posted (Stallworth was doing 50)...

So yea, while I can't believe Stallworth got off with 30 days, if this dumbfuck who got hit was running across the street oblivious to the fact there was traffic around in the middle of a city... I don't have a lot of sympathy for the victim either. Look both ways before crossing the street and catch the next bus mother fucker.

Also it's not like a .12 is shitfaced hammered... remember, .1 was the federal limit for a long time until MADD got some publicity. I'd be interested to have breathalyzers installed at more bars so people could see how easy it is to get over .08.

I was going to post pretty much exactly this, but Drago beat me to it. It sounds to me like he was driving fairly reasonably and the pedestrian was mostly at fault. I bet a lot of people posting here have driven their car at 0.12 without even knowing it and would be in the same spot if someone had walked out in front of their car at daybreak while they were driving 50 mph.

The Vick thing was obviously blown way out of proportion, but if a regular joe would have gotten 15 years for what Stallworth the tragedy would be in the 15 year sentence, not the 30 days. Note that he also got 2 years of house arrest and 8 more of probation after that.

The thing with Vick that fucked him over was He lied to the cops, the feds and anyone else he could lie to about. That's why that POS spent more time getting to Know Bubba in the showers than the DUI POS is going to.

While we all can agree that Killing a person is a hell of a lot more important than killing a boat load of dogs (well maybe not the whinny bitches at PETA). Their were many reasons that stallworth got off easier.

1. You can't pay off a dogs family
2. He admitted to being a piece of shit idiot
3. He didn't break any Federal laws...Something that Vick did.

It isn't even about Stallworth being guilty or not. It's the joke of a justice system. A normal person would have been charged with something like Reckless Homicide while he gets a simple DUI Manslaughter just for having money and being in the NFL.

30 days for DUI manslaughter...wow.

My dad got 18 months for copyright infringement.
