this. It really only helps on bad throws. Throws on target dont require any boost to get the ball otherwise youd over run your route. great for defense.

This thread is obviously just a bunch of people spouting off things they've heard like a bunch of parrots.

Which sux because I wanna know if it works on all passes or deflected/bad passes. The VA thread I quoted said it only works on bad/deflected passes. Anyone with real knowledge?

that thread is old ... it begins working when the player sees the ball coming, not when the ball is deflected

5-10 VAs is a good investment I believe, but only as a 3rd VA.

I've got it on my high level WR and he does well enough. I think it's a great VA to have a few in because fast WRs typically chase bad throws or leads deep, and possession WR's with high vision want to be dead on the ball every time to have the highest possible chance of a catch.

Which would be the first two VAs for a Speedster?

My WR has 15 in Ballhawk, and I will never change that. That is an advantage I refuse to simply "give" to CB's.

yeah, the WR having ball hawk is not going to counter CBs having ball hawk. on a good pass, the WR is going to catch the ball in the same spot, whether they have BH or not. its a different story with CBs. if you want to counter BH, the best way i can think of is AI and UD. lower the CBs vision and it will take longer for him to see the ball coming and then BH wont be active for as long.

yeah, it "works" on all passes in the sense that the VA can be active.

when it was first created it was for deflected passes only, but changed last season so it is when he sees the ball coming.

The idea that it only "works" on bad throws is just because if it's a good throw, the WR doesn't need extra speed/agi to get to the ball. On a bad throw, he'd have to adjust to it and could use the boost. So it's always useful for a CB, but not always useful for a WR.

And the longer the ball is in the air, the more time you have for BH to work, so it is more useful on long plays than short. So better on speedsters who tend to go deep a lot, than possession type receivers working the underneath routes.
