No, you don't have to. Strength is way overrated on FBs.


Ignore it all you want... that's fine. I just think because of the "power" oriented sizing of a FB w/ the SA's available, it would be important to focus on strength and carrying so you can get past the first couple tacklers. At least single capping it is a better use of your SP's then pouring it all into speed early on.

Would be best off primarily being a blocker for a speed back IMO and then investing points into scat back and being a big threat as a receiver.

I actually have a Power FB, they are effective but there are runs that allow elusive FBs to work. Check out my FB La'Ron McClain, he's not in a tough league but the team found some runs that he is successful on.

depends so much on the scheme and the QB that I wouldn't want to try, but it's an interesting experiment.
