I would. Safeties have to cover a lot of area pretty fast. The sooner you can get somewhere the better. But if you're thinking short term... then no.
It isn't a matter of short term or long term for a safety. It is a matter of trade-offs--it isn't as if you ever run out of worthy places to put your SPs. Don't get me wrong, I think a case could be made for a safety going to 73 or 77 speed...I just think it would have to be a carefully thought-out build playing in a specific kind of defensive scheme in order to truly take advantage of it.
I don't think you need any specific scheme to take advantage of a fast player. Fast and agile players work in any defensive scheme. Slow players are the ones who have to be bottlenecked into schemes. If you plan it out right you can easily have 77+ natural speed, 68+ agility and even 60+ vision by your late 20's.
I think those numbers are a little off that's more realistic by around lvl 32well I have natural 75.2 spd on my lvl 14 safety right now. Can easily get something close to that by my late 20's.
At roughly lvl 21... that'll be a natural speed of 78
and without even including my training... I'll have agility at least 2 capped. So I don't see how it's not possible.
Include another training session and the auto level gains that although are decreased are still decent after that... you could easily get that by then. You have to be smart about it... but it's possible.
