Speed at 80+ for a DT? Dunno about jacking it that high myself. Rest of the advice for DTs seems sound though.

Pretty solid advice, though there are other ways to be successful too.

I have seen much higher strength DEs and DTs do well, and there are at least a few pass rushing NTs that do very well (Merlin Olsen comes to mind).

Bottom line is that if you follow this advice, you will have decently effective players.

How high should I take agility/speed naturally for a LDE? I was thinking 78/74?

Kayoh's got the DT part down pat. The only thing thing I can moderately disagree with is AEQ choice. I prefer first step, but I can see how someone would like Break Block or Tunnel Vision.

speaking of which... i thought i understood the general concensus on str speed agil for a RDE until i read this post ive a level 21 DE with 49 str 66 spd 64agil(81 with his equipment) ive 9 points of agil items that i can easily change into speed. should i do this? giving me 75speed and 72 agility.

I wish they would make this thread sticky. It is rather helpful and informative.

The only change I would recommend at this point is that I found my team's line became a LOT more effective when I put 10 ranks into Line General for my NT. I think if you are looking for overal line effectiveness this is one thing you want to boost as early as prectical for a NT. Comeback to the other SAs after you develop your buld for a while; but the difference between a good line and a great one has Line Genereal in the equation.

after listening to some advice, i decided to commit that sin, but only short term. as i improve my speed, i will start using my agility pieces again, so eventually they will all be in the one stat.
