Your DT doesn't have a good build. As a blocker-eating NT he should have much higher strength (110-115 min). As a pass rusher he should have WAY higher agility and speed. Unfortunately, since you don't boost, it's going to be impossible to correct your player before he starts his decline. Use these learnings for your next player.

here is my DT

He would be more productive but he is the NT

it's not that good of a build. High strength is ok but it's not the end all be all. You've used a NT/strength build, but selected DT/agility SAs. It's not a bad build, just slightly misguided.

You can also boot his jumping. That helps in the pass rush when swatting those passes down when your DT can't get to the QB.

While stats are cool, DT's usually aren't going to get many numbers unless they are up against a really weak O-line, so I just usually look at the running stats to see if anyone is getting through. Wall and Strong Base SA's are good for this, and one of my DT's was on a team that let up -44 running yards last season. I consider that more of a success than getting sacks or whatev.

I have to agree with this. It is all about getting moral victories or stymieing the other team. When you are playing in a league that everything is equal then you can forget about getting high stats. it is all about moral victories. My conference championship was today at 12 noon eastern time. The game resulted in a 29-17 victory. These teams were both undefeated and whupped up on everybody in their conference. Yet when they played each other there was only 2 touchdowns by the winning team. Everything else was field goals. Bloated stats mean nothing if you can't consistently manhandle all competition.
