Alright, I'll chime in on this.

to make a good Interception CB you need to understand some things:

A. you will never make an interception if you cannot stick to your man.
B. Aggressive INT tries are difficult to not get burnt on, you need a lot of vision.
C. Catching should always be higher than jumping... this even helps for pass deflections.

A good CB finalized build looks like:

Speed: 100+ (all gear goes here)
Agility: 70+
Vision: 70
Catching: 70
Jumping: 60
Tackling: 50
Strength: 50
Confidence: 50

Now this is long ways down the build, but those are in order of their importance and also in order of how you should build them up.

of course there are SAs, but I won't go into those

Thank you. Wow. someone actually stepped up for catching over jumping.

s.a's Super vision Sticky hands change direction.

yeah, that looks really good... not sure i would take speed, confidence or catching that high (lower each of those by 10 and id be good). catching is good, but i dont think it needs to be taken that high. and for INTs, sticky hands is very helpful. i have it at 4 (working on it now) and i have 80 INTs... i have a friend who has it even higher (last time i checked i think he had it at 8) and has even a few more INTs. and then CD, with good agl, is kind of a waste. if you have 90/80 speed/agl, CD really only needs a few points... but SV should be maxed. i dont care what kind of CB you are, SV should be maxed and SDC should have quite a few points in it as well.

Pit Boss has 64 int's, 20 of em pick sixes, and another 7 in the playoffs. He says get on your special abilities. Use the ones that boost your most important (highest and now cost the most skill points) attributes, like speed, agility, vision etc. Some of them even boost 2 or more attributes. Right nowsitting on 1's, those are cheap for you. Pit Boss reccommends First Step, Change of Direction, Shutdown coverage, Sticky hands, and Super Vision.

Check out Pit Boss' build and watch him FLEX!

work on attributes first before you hit SAs. take speed and agility to 68 then vision to 60. cap jumping and catching, then work on SAs

Ummmm yeah just cause this guys a mod doesnt mean you should listen to him!
His speed/agility ratio is too far apart. 90/80 would be more effective. Confidence and tackling at 50?!?!?! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ok. And He wont even get into SAs? Besides speed/agility/vision your SAs are arguably the next most important thing. and 70 catching.....debatable.

+1. strength at 50 and you can pretty much ignore tackling all together. maybe train it up with stregth and when you can cap strength, leave tackling alone. and then confidence doesnt need to be soft capped. 35-40 should be enough to do anything you need confidence to do. and then catching to 70... thats like treating it as a primary attribute... which it isnt. 60 is the highest i would even consider taking it. I would personally leave it at mid 50's. same with jumping. but 90/80 speed is great, 95/85 is even better, but anything over that is just not needed, just keep speed and agl within 10 and you'll be golden. and then vision at 68 is great, but again not needed if you have good SV.

I would never put a single SP into tackling as a corner . . .

What's to elaborate? That's about as concrete and it can get. If your corner ever needs tackling then you need to find a team with a better front 7. In no way shape or form should it ever be a corner backs responsibility to make tackles. Maybe on a play where your wide receiver caught the ball. But if the WR is catching the ball on you, you have more things to worry about over tackling.

Personally I have tried 90-80 95-85 and 100/70.
I like 100/70 the best.

But I don't set my tactics to shut down a wr I want the ball to be thrown his way.

Maybe for a shut down corner you want 90-80 or 90/90 even. But I think he is right, for an int machine you want 100/70

people who think like this are what make backs like this possible:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=666174&playoffs=0

He's lived his life running over 35 tackling 35 strength guys.

Don't think of me giving advice as a mod, but more so from my views in AAA USA (it's a shame the team went belly up this season, but our offense wasn't up to par and our defense was falling off) and more recently in Canada AAA.

You can take my advice with a grain of salt, but frankly most people ignore these stats, and getting them to at least the softcap will save you a lot headaches.

Also anyone who doesn't get speed up over 100 will never get past AA ball in any league.

This is a great post, I kind of lost direction on where to take my CB, so this will certainly help clear a path.
