Speed isnt the only element to getting run down or not. My back isn't above 95 and is ranked 5th in GLB and rarely see's a shoestring tackle after breaking one. agility and your ability to fake or juke and slippery are helpful as well.

You're also in an A level league where you hardly had a challenge for most of the season.

Yeah, I thought the same thing til we rattled off wins against AA clubs.

Your back isn't even the best in his own conference. Your team feeds him the ball constantly. Your running averages suck against the elite teams.

Well, i know the build of a certain GLB allstar that my HB is named after and his speed is MUCH lower than you guys are saying. Below 80 with gear on.

I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion but that's comparing apples to oranges. Are you just looking at rushing yards not contributions overall? My back is more of a combo back. If you add up rec's and rushes he actually he is the class of the league. The other stand out back in our league is a different style of back. It's like comparing a back the style of Thurman Thomas to a Barry Sanders. Both do their job very well, just in different ways.

Staying on topic, my point is: It doesnt take 95-99 speed to be fast. There are other factors. Build speed without agility will end up with initially bad results until agility is brought up to a sutable level. I've seen this first hand. It appears the back runs out of control and often runs out of bounds or cant make the cut's needed to hit a hole. Speed is important but dont neglect agility and in the later level's the vet and special abilities that help make a back complete.

What I'm saying, is that your team constantly feeds you the ball, hence the stats. Against the very good teams your ypc is terrible, sure you have good receiving #s, but so do a lot of backs.

Honestly, any of the top teams could have just fed one guy the ball all season and gotten insane stats for our RBs, most of us just choose to spread the wealth.

Any good league 90-95 speed is what all the LBs are at.

I understand what you're saying but don't agree. For this RB, I had to ask for more playing time on the front end of this season. Here's an example.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=502139

15 plays. Even with that short total he ended up with 400 total yards 8 TD's against the 4th place seed in that conference.

Also, the power back/ second string guy on our team received 277 touches this season. it's not all backside, all the time. He carried a huge load and played a role in our success.

I'm not a fan of all speed is what I'm saying. the case I was trying to make is 99 speed and nothing else will not make you a star. I know I'm playing against LB's that have 90-95 speed but I promise you this.... None of them have as many points as I have in quick cut and first step. Straight line speed is one thing, turn around and catch the RB speed is another.

I would guess that few if any LBs in Canada A5 have that kind of speed (besides our team and MAYBE Rancho/Grove City).

There is a reason the scores were so lopsided all season.

I know by open builds earlier several that do. Also the AA teams we played do as well.

I didn't realize you are from our conf. makes more sense now why you want to bash.

I've found that you definately need a "balance" of speed, agility, and strength and vison... My HB is fast, but not ridiculous fast, but he is very agile, and is pretty strong too..

Unless you have a unbelievable dominant offensive line that can get you to the second level without much effort, you are going to need the other attributes to make a player miss you.

Watch this run.. against upper level competition (for his league) - He is the second RB that i've created, the first is about to retire. This is a more improved version.
