I wish they had a stat for reverse pancakes as well as count of how many times a player got reverse pancaked. To me that would be a great indicator for Olinemen because that indicates how many times they got beat.

Highlights against gut jobs don't count.

True, but if you pancake someone in the run game, that frees the lineman to block a second player in the second tier which is much more helpful to the run game than just blocking one player. Pancakes are not the only thing that matters, but it shouldn't be thrown out either which is what it sounded like someone was saying. Who cares if someone is dominating their defender in the run game.

Pancake is one factor, hurries and sacks given up are others. Also hurries and sacks from QB's holding the ball all day are not on the line either so those can be minimized when looking at a player.

I agree with this. But a lot of people tend to think that pancakes is the end-all, be-all stat. A great pulling guard isn't going to get a lot of pancakes, but it's hard to have a good outside running game without him.

Half of his stats come from games against gutted teams. Granted I would say that he is probably the Garuda player of the year

Bandar Lampung is voting on each category right now. It'll be a few days before we're ready.

He definitely racked up some numbers in the 3 gut jobs, but check out the Sting's loses against arguably better opponents. In those 5 games alone, he totaled 42 tackles and 17 sacks.

Compare those numbers to the infamous Rawr Rawr minus his 2 games vs. gut jobs. In 14 games, he had 45 tackles and 18 sacks.

Dude is a stud.

I totally agree. It's just hard to pick a lineman with no stats at all to start with, ya know. Hurries, sacks, and Pancakes are our only guides, maybe seeing which great defenders were shutdown on which games and against who. Otherwise we all have to watch every game and evaluate every blocker. The best thing, imo, is to start with the stats and then look for the best of the bunch from tape and game logs.
