That's pretty good. I've got WR's with 50 carrying that get 2-3 knocked loose per game. Well, now we have a target to shoot for.

strength is 33

I'm thinking that strength is the key as well, but I'm taking the easy way out this time and waiting for someone to test and confirm.

Could it be confidence as well?

It can be, although I have noticed that more late in the game than throughout. On our team, we see more balls knocked loose in the fourth quarter for those receivers low in confidence.

It's catching.
Catching determines how well your receiver catches in stride.
This makes it far more difficult for you to be deflected.
If you're having serious issues with it:
1. You're passing too far.
2. QB is throwing too far on lofty.

At competitive levels that's your answer.
To clarify the above:
If your WR doesn't have at least ~40 jumping and vision, and >60 catching, then you're not competitive.
If your QB doesn't have at least ~40 strength and vision, and >68 throwing, " "
If your team's offense is out-leveled by your opponent's defense, " "
If you have a terrible build, you're probably not competitive.

DW,

My WR has 50ish jumping, 50ish vision, and 70ish catching
I'm not giving away our team's QB's build, but he's got all those numbers by a landslide
Our team's offense is rarely outleveled

I'm still at a loss

-----

I see people saying to take strength to 50+ and see others touting carrying to 60+ and others saying there's no problem and others saying it's a sim problem and we can't do anything

le sigh

You also don't have a serious problem:

Be happy you're facing good opponents. That's not that huge of an issue. Passing isn't supposed to be so reliable.

Worthy of taking a look at.

I think moving the stat off into "drops" would underscore for the WR the need for something to hold onto the ball when getting pummeled. I believe it needs to be recorded for the defender as well, though, in some fashion.

When we upped the fumble likelihood this season, the likelihood of dropping passes due to hard hits went up as well (same calculations). We actually did quite a few tests with this before the season started because we noticed PD's being up as a result. If you look at some early test sims, you'll see quite a few fumbles and PD's.

I'm not sure I like the idea of changing the formula to use catching instead of carrying. It makes carrying MUCH more worthless and carrying FAR more important for WR's (and it's already going to be a fairly high stat), while right now you actually need some carrying to avoid dropping the ball all the time when getting hit. It would make it a stat to just completely ignore for just about every WR.

103 strength, so don't think that's much of a factor.

Catching is broken, that is all.
Not knocked loose, but can't catch a wide open pass with 100+ catching and 55+ carrying.

Sigh.
