I'm kind of just guessing here, since I never had this problem all of last season other than when I had the wrong play-types called in the redzone, or I forgot to put a play into the playbook that I had in the AI.


I double checked the AI for error, yes.

One play was a STR I screen inside the 5 yard line that was set at 0%. I set this to 0% before last game. However the sim runs it today.

Is this TE Drag? This play is nowhere to be found in the playbook or the AI.

Looks like Shotgun WR Drag (Short WR)

No, it was the Strong I one where the TE heads to the sideline.

--Note, make sure to check your quarterly outputs as well. Maybe one of your overrides is the problem.

Haven't seen it on offense, but defensively I've seen some plays not called by the AI.

Nevermind, I was thinking SB WR Drag.


The SG TE Drag play though, the HB doesn't release to a route.

Kurt's right, I don't see any plays in the Shotgun playbook where the TE runs across the middle on a drag route and the HB releases to the strong flat.

Ok I found a new medium play I added inside the 10 yard line that may have caused the problem. So the AI will default to some random play in this situation?

As for the STR I Screen, I have no idea on that one. I have no med or long passes set for inside the 5 yard line.

I think the problem with overtime specific outputs is that you can't move the input up to the top of your AI. Since the sim calls plays from the first matching input that it finds working it's way down the list it's probably finding a matching input before you get to your OT specific AI.

I had this problem with goal line defense. I had to move my GL input to the top of my list to stop certain teams from killing me with GL runs on third and short on another team.

Shouldn't the Overtime AI selections function the same as 1st,2nd,3rd,4th Quarter AIs in that they over-rule the General AI selections?

idk, never tried first and third. They seem useless to me.

Second, fourth and OT have never worked imo.

What Lawl said...OT settings should over ride your standard AI...so it should scan those first top to bottom then hit the general settings. It's a bug, I brought it up to Hazy...Bort confirmed (it's in the bug arena) that he didn't have the OT FG thing coded correctly. Honestly tho, I don't think the OT settings work in general, I don't think Bort did a very good job in getting the interface to respond accurately to game situations. I think cuz we are in perpetual Beta he feels like he can half ass everything and then rely on us to find his mistakes.
