I think this has to be the dumbest idea I've heard of here, and that's saying quite a bit.

If i had free agents and wanted to stay in Pro or AAA the biggest thing i'd want to know was how committed the owner was to not gutting in the next season or two.

I don't see any valid reason that the fact that a team like the evil Monkeys has only lost 4 regular season games since they have been in the pros and picked up two conference titles to not be allowed as a recruiting tool. Parity is boring.

While that is good.. It kind of sucks however that even with that..some will get a message back stating oh well. why havent you guys won a championship? even though I think that is completely insane for them to be saying..especially when a winning team is interested in you..but that is the way of free agency I suppose..even the guys with less than ideal builds think they are the best thing since oxygen

I guess he's just trying to get some kind of advantage for next season's recruiting when he goes to explain to people why his team just got shit canned to AAA.

It is getting harder and harder to recruit quality talent when they take a look at your record and see that it isnt being successful in the league.

Comparing to it baseball, no one in their right mind would rather play for a successful triple A team then for a Major league team even if it is not a successful one.

I shouldnt be losing out on good talent to a successful A or AA league team. I also understand relegation, but to be relegated because you lose with equal talent is alot different than to be relegated because you cant field a competitive team because someone would rather try to win a trophy in AA than to play for a Pro league Team.

Anyways just curious on your thoughts

Maybe you're a fucking douchebag and that's why no one wants to play for you?

if My team gets relegated then so be it, but i wont be gutting it. Also If we do get relegated the pro teams that were able to stay in Pro should have first shot at signing good talent before an AAA team should. Second a player should want to play in pro rather than go to a AAA, AA A, BBB team. But this isnt the case. Pro holds no advantage over the other leagues when it really should. in a perfect system BBB should be a farm league for A, and A should be a farm league for AA and so on.

You dont see a MLB player passing up a contract from the texas rangers to go play for AAA squad.

Yes it does. I had the easiest time of my GLB career recruiting this past off-season and actually had players PM me about coming on board without me even asking. Of course, maybe that has something to do with going 15-1 in the regular season and advancing to the AAA1 Title game instead of whatever it was you did up in Pro last season.

Piss poor comparison. This is a computer game in which salaries for AAA level teams are generally the exact same as salaries for a pro team, not real life.

Crai less, win moar

Romemorr - all trolling aside, you really should have asked to be relegated last season. You should this coming offseason. Its the only way your franchise is going to survive longterm, I think.

So you are saying that owners in BBB should have all the fun of creating players for the Pro teams? I

If you don't think that most players want to play in the Pros instead of the lower leagues, then you obviously haven't recruited for a lower league team.

The comparison with MLB is meaningless, if you absolutely have to compare it a real life sport European soccer is probably the closest.

yeah take the pussy way out... My franchise will survive just because i take time every year to recruit my ass off. I may not get the top tier talent, but i atleast try to field a competitive team.

Im sorry, im not one of those owners who guts a team just because i lost a few games and know i wont have a winning season. Thats the problem with most people in today's society. they have been spoon fed crap and dont know how to work for something. Just because you fail doesnt mean you throw in the towel.

I know how difficult it is to get to the pro's So im not going to ask to be relegated. If i get relegated its because i was one of the bottom 2 teams in my conference.

Im saying agents in general should have all the fun of creating players for Pro teams. Isnt that the point of this game for player agents. To get your player into the pro league, either through promotion or contracts.

I'm sorry but this sounds like you're trying to have it both ways. A lot of us have busted our asses since Season 1 to get up here to Pro. We weren't just given teams in Pro from the get go. And as such those teams and GMs have earned those trophies. I only have one trophy for my team but I'm not going to begrudge the guys who have more than I do and cry to have them taken away so that I can have a "fairer shake" at recruiting.

You can't on one hand cry "American way" and "Work Ethic" when it comes to not gutting your team and then on the other hand get all socialist on us and want trophies hidden from view so that recruits will come your way more easily.

For some. Some agents want to get stats and personal glory though with not much concern for winning at top levels
