BUT, I think it can be fixed. We have listed our major concerns with the game in the thread started by Hazy on this forum. I would think that one of the MANY, MANY, MANY Mods in here could let Bort know about this thread if they haven't already.

Already posted it for Bort to see - once I compile the list (going to give it another day or so), I'll put it together and submit it for him to review. Again, doesn't mean anything will happen but at least it's worth a shot.

And fwiw, there are people telling me that the people complaining in USA Pro are the vocal minority and that most people are pleased with the game. I love the game and am going to continue playing it and doing everything I can for it, but to say that it's the vocal minority complaining is ludicrous imo.

ahhh and see, this is why ultimately our opinions don't matter.

Ultimately, the 'general player base' far outnumbers the 'owner/coordinator base'. If you took a poll of the global player base, they prob do love things as they are. Because they don't see the mechanics behind the game. They just see their player perform, maybe just look at a stat line.

However, the owner/coordinator base, especially at the Global Pro and USA AAA level, I dare say would have a rather different opinion. But it's a smaller user base, so...

Great call Islander. That being said, shouldn't those that have to worry about GAME PLANNING be the ones you listen to about issues with GAME PLANNING.

Just sayin

oh, and we all know this is correct. But the question Bort asks is:

If I remove VAs from the game - say that they need overhauling - will I lose more money then I'll gain?

If he thinks the answer is yes, then screw game integrity, as long as the money's rollin' in...

oh, its probably smart business. The best/oldest players tire of the game, see it for all its flaws, and then flame out and leave. New ones take their place provided the gen pop enjoy the game.

I think a bunch of us just feel like a better product is good for the entire population, but as RJ so eloquently stated in the OP, this sim has long gotten way out of hand for Bort, and it would take severe changes to reel it back under control.

These are two really good guys (on the internet) that enjoy this game and have tried to make it better. Both of them bailing mid-season should be a wake up call to Bort that he has Major freaking issues with his Business.

Personally I still find the game fun-is it flawed? Hell yeah. Do I get frustred by some of the in the quirks in the sim? Hell yeah.

This may be Naive, but this is league with the Most Experienced GLB players in it. We are the guys that have been here since the beginning. Hell I'm a Noob compared to most of the Alpha crowd in here. Bort should be looking to this group for suggestions not the vocal band of MALcontents that proliferate the main boards with the rhetoric. Bort needs to make some serious moves to fix whats broke in this game or it's going to go to hell very quickly.

The good news is it's salvageable. If he would just react to the issues at hand, this thing could go on for long time. He has a solid community already involved in the game, BUT we need to see some real effort to solve the problems that are out there.

i had no less than 3 mods lock/delete threads about this very thing. they don't give a shit.

I saw that in the suggestion forum and it's F'ing bullshit. I don't even bother to post there because crap like "colored dots" and Improved stadium graphics get done and while other shit goes to hell.

How about this....We can deal with the sim being FUCKED for the rest of this year IF you fix the finances in the game. That should be the easy thing to handle. Now Epic coding issues, no complex football pathing problems. Just dollars and cents. Fix a major problem that should be a simple ass fix and it will go a long way to restoring some faith in Bort's ability to make this work.

there is a lot of season one players not in the Pros

I think this is the best season as far as the sim in a long time

I don't compare this game to Madden and the NFL though

It's not about comparing it to Madden or NFL.

It's about having a sim that isn't made intolerable by bullshit.

I guarantee that they won't be the only ones this season. This season was designed to be a "less active" season for the Woodys due to our main coordinator (who pretty much does everything for us) getting married next week and then going on his honeymoon. I used to anxiously try to find the games ahead of time and watch every play, sometimes taking notes. I switched to watching some last year. I haven't watched a single replay this season, and I'm not sure I can find the motivation to actually do it right now. I totally understand how PT and RJ felt. They are two owners who have worked their ass off to get up here, and every season the sim gets worse. I had a ton of faith in Bort and this game, with the high quality of the sim at Beta, thinking "if its come this far before anyone got to the game, how great will it be in a year?!" Unfortunately, I've just been disappointed. The Woodys aren't going anywhere any time soon, but we definitely won't be trying as hard as we used to. I still have enough flex points to last a while. Season 10 is my deadline, though. If things aren't fun by then, I'll most likely be selling the team, retiring my players, and holding the flex points I have left. I'll give it some time to see if its going to improve. Otherwise, I'll just burn them out on a new team and create the entire roster myself (or with a limited number of peoples help), and screw around until they are gone. I feel very foolish for believing that things would actually improve, but now I have a pretty clear understanding that Bort does not understand the game mechanics enough to fix them. I'd love for him to prove me wrong, but I've given up any realistic hope of it.

is this your first MMO?

none of them work right, and there is always bugs, and nerfs, whining, and more nerfs

its an endless cycle with these types of games, and you play until and its not fun anymore

This comment is definitely ridiculous. I am not one to post a lot regarding the shortcomings of the game but they are most definitely there.

I really think 1 of the biggest issues with the game relates to management. Hazy - you have tried to do a lot for the improvement of the game. (If you really told rj to quit if he was unhappy then I am disturbed).

I really think it says something about management to alienate some of their most loyal customers. I worry that the game engine will continue to decline as they make adjustments based on faulty logic thus the need to remove VA's until the game engine is fixed as recommended by PP.

1 other thing that worries me is profits made from GLB will continue to decline over time while overhead cost will increase or at best stay the same. 1 other thing I find ridiculous is the 100-200 point flex point giveaways - the best and worst customers get the same thing. Management needs to do better than that.

Maybe there should be a MMORPG called "Pro Bowl". Anyone have any MMORPG design experience? I'm sure there's money to be made.

Owners should get more say in the game b/c they do teh gameplanning

I have peeked behind the scenes and KNOW I don't have the patience, time, or skill and am thankful for my owners and GMs... lawdawg, schraub, whatsdafus, Padre97, and dberner - they make it fun and keep me around

I didn't tell any one to quit. Here is what I said:

I guess I'm tired of people bitching (always have been, even long before I was a mod and testing). It's a game - if you aren't enjoying it, then don't play or pay. It's really that simple. Me personally, if I was going to be unhappy about something for more than a couple months, I'd be long gone. I enjoy the game though and I understand it's not perfect and that there are things that need to improve (which is what I'm trying to do but with only one programmer, something which is at the core root at the major problem with this game, it takes a lot longer than if you had a well organized team of developers).

It certainly wasn't directed at any one individual but was more my personal belief that if you aren't happy with something, you shouldn't be doing it. If rj took that as me telling him to quit, I guess that's his choice, but it wasn't the case. I think he just read too much into that statement since it was in a thread he started but it wasn't directed at him personally.
