And this is the exact kind of post I don't want. Seriously. If I'm going to get posts like this, I'll quit trying to help.

Strip the game completely of VAs, the D PC, Endorsements and MVP. Reset the sim to what it was at the end of ssn 7 and keep the repeated play penalty. Focus this entire ssn and upcoming offssn on absolutely nothing more than making the sim functional. No player nerfs, no player bumps, just the sim. If the sim is not satisfactory going into ssn 11, continue to work on nothing else and keep working on it until the sim is rock solid.

After that occurs, then add in 1 of the above factors and only 1 of them. Ruin with that for an entire ssn. If still rock solid, add in a the next the following ssn. If not, work with that as many ssns as it takes.

I agree with fixing the CB overjumping... as for how to fix it...

Tell bort to shoot me the code. I'll let him know.

1) Completely overhaul the code for blocking schemes and de-buff the Offensive Line. The coding is so bad for the blocking that Bort has had to buff the Olinemen to a point where they are completely overpowered. This in turn will fix alot of the DE/OT interaction that is off atm.

2) The Coverage code needs a complete overhaul as well. Every other season or so problem pop with the CBs. My theory is this....The code for the coverage isnt working and Bort just patches it everytime a fix is needed. While this fixes the problem in the short term...long term it still leaves a huge void.

3) Revamp the way LBs read pass, run, etc. I understand that vision checks are needed but a LB shouldnt stand around for 5-8 ticks trying to figure out what he is supposed to do. If you assign the MLB to cover the HB....it doesnt take Singletary type vision to find the HB and cover him.

4) Remove VAs. I want them removed and maybe brought back at a later time. I think the idea of VAs is a very good one. However, the fact that the underlining sim is in such shambles..defeats the original purpose for them. Fix the sim, then thoroughly test them before re-introduction.

5) Roster limit. Now I am a big fan of depth but unfortunately without a cap limit...people will push the envelope. I think with VAs removed along with roster caps...the ST's will fix themselves.

Phone is ringing...will finish in a few.

in a nutshell, strip away all the fluff and work on nothing more than the sim...and leave the player builds alone

1. Fix this.

2. Fix this.

3. Delete this.

Give me ideas as to how you would fix or improve something. Just giving Bort a list of "people hate such and such" isn't going to do anything. I need actual ideas/suggestions that will work within the framework of the game as it is now and can be implemented.

P.S. JT, Copeland can pass too, I just choose not to with him.

Understood, but from what I can scout from you he only runs. Understand my point?

Remove many variables and perfect it as much as possible before adding new stuff. It's way too hard to fix things with this many variables.

I'm done trying to actually find things to fix, too much effort with no return so far.

Remove the VAs. I think this is the root for a lot of the problems. Simply put, a lot of the +30% VAs have simply created a lot of unbalance and exposed a lot of errors in the code. For example, +15 quick feet and +15 return specialist will probably make any elusive backs superman on returns. All the +30% boosts simply adds too much randomness into the game, now you have super humans playing on certain plays. Blockers have godly like attributes when they block outside, WRs have hands of glue on 3rd downs; Guys turn into Popeye when they are behind by 14 points (that really makes a lot of sense btw); Ballhawk is supposed to make the defender better but it actually make the defender run away from the ball faster.

The sim has gone down hill ever since VA was introduced, remove the VAs now will help eliminate at least half of the problems.

1. Find a balance at DL/OL
Basically a power running team should get a great push against a finesse DL. Should result in many good rushes. BUT 45 pancakes has never happenend, the OL should be able to get more of a push on the DL if they get the right roll, and likewise the DL should be able to get a good push on the OL if they get a good roll.

Speed DE should be effective against the slower stronger OT on pass plays imo. Protect should be nerfed a bit because RDE is the premier pass rusher generally and they are nearly unheard of in GLB now a days. A strength DE should be able to effective against a weaker quicker OT, depends on the proper roll though.

2. Balance between WR/DB
A well built corner should be able to cover a good reciever. Case closed. The institution of press coverage based on strength and coverage distance would help everything. In a good press a CB would hold the WR from running the route, helping the pass rush, and it should be near impossible to catch a ball during the act of being pressed. In the air a CB and WR should have equal reaction toward the ball. The WR should get a slight advantage because they know where the ball should be, but it shouldnt be a drastic thing.

A fast WR should burn a slow CB. 110 speed vs 92=burned imo.

3. Remove VA
They were nice in theory, but they should be at least suspended and go back to testing for at least a season to become perfected. Treat it just like the DPC.

Fix elusive HB pathing, it's not as bad as it used to be but we are in season 9 and a guy will still sometimes have a huge open lane for a TD but turn right into the defense, run out of bounds, or stutter all over the place until he gets tackled.

You can't help. Bort has made it very clear that he wants to do things his way so that he has all the control. He is aware of the complaints on all of these things brought up, and he can already choose to make those changes or not, and he chooses not to.

Oh and scrap the VAs, it's a complete mess on so many levels. Replace them with something NEW that is FUN. FUN should be the key, and there isn't anything fun about this game anymore.

Hazy, Copeland is built for 1 reason and 1 reason only. He is meant to run like a demon to the outside and that's exactly how you use him. I'm sure not saying that's wrong, but that is the truth.

Now, Bort had written once that the reason he didn't put in a QB1 & QB2 slot was because he didn't want QB specialization like that (meaning a HB at QB that doesn't pass). I'm fine with you having it and how you have creatively gotten around the issue. However, I'd have to agree that something should be done on the D side to enable a functional D against Copeland, without having to sell out to stop him when he is not in the game. If this was a truly interactive game, every time he was in I'd put both safes on the outside and dare him to pass. As it stands now, there is no counter for it. There needs to be one.

1) Remove VAs completely. Just make an announcement that it was all just people's imagination and pretend the damn things never existed. I don't know how else to elaborate other than a bad analogy. VAs are the equivalent of doing tests on 150 different chemical reactions to a constant but not understanding how the constant works. Not only do they not make the game more enjoyable but they are the cause of so many headaches. If the sim can get to working right then maybe introduce a few at a time but honestly I don't think they will ever work as intended. I'm also all for the season 7 sim with adding in the repeat play penalty.

2) Fix the financial system. I've tried for three seasons to get this problem fixed BEFORE it got to this point. The price of level 48+ equipment is absurd. Teams shouldn't have to depend on what they did in season 2 to buy equipment for players. I can just see the Patriots releasing Brady because they can't afford to buy him some better eye black. I understand rewarding playoff teams but not at the expense of teams that don't get homefield advantage to become uncompetitive. There are a lot of teams selling everyday because of this reason. They can't keep players because they can't afford equipment. Players don't like it, owners don't like it, GMs don't like. The only teams that like the current system are the ones that got rewarded by exploiting ticket sales early in GLB. The fix? Make level 40 equipment price the cap and give teams with players over level 40 a one time large compensation for all the level 40 equipment purchased. That is it, no television revenues or anything else adding to the list of crap owners have to do.

3) Once the game is rolling good and the sim looks right and everybody is happy, don't feel the need to change it for the sake of change.
