I'd be kinda pissed if I was a player that did a VA for the team, then the team quits after game 2, lol

I would be incredibly surprised if there is not another VA reset next offseason (unless not done next offseason because it was done during this season.

Totally not trying to be a dick but I am wondering if you tried the zone prior to the last reset. Reason I ask is it would be even worse if you did homework and then against certain plays it blows.

1 other option is seeing if someone on your team wants to take over the team. (similar to what monkeyskin did with the Bullets)

It seems like this happens every season, lol.. but tie breakers can come down to points scored, which is why even if they haven't won, they could potentially screw someone for playoff seeding. Everyone else will score 255 on them, while the other teams didn't...

I completely understand what PierreThomas is saying, but IMO if you start the season, you should finish it.. it's a matter of integrity, it's that simple.

Sad to see you guys go, completely understand. You sound like me with the Spartans a season ago. Good luck in life I suppose, I hope you still stay on at least to manage a couple of players. That asspect of this game is still fun

I ran zone all preseason. I was going to make a final evaluation of it after the first game (before the last reset) but I fucked up the AI and had very little to go on. We didn't look bad in the preseason but considering every single play we were using was a custom play I figured with some tweaking it could be very good. I also figured that with zone defense in place we could get a lot of picks using the boost but since we went with ball hawk we can't play on aggressive pass defense because of the other bug.

I might be able to get around both of these problems but I'm having defenses called that I don't even have set up in my playbook, others that are being called randomly and it isn't AI issues. On offense, we had the same plays run over and over and over because the random play generator is fucked until we cross the unknown repeat play penalty when I probably have the biggest playbook in the league. I would go with a completely new custom AI but what is the point because today, every defensive play is broken.

So basically the team is fucked season regardless. We worked our way up from BBB in season 2 and didn't get homefield through the playoffs but twice. Plus we spent money on equipment trying to adjust builds and the team is broke. Some of our players don't have level 48 equipment, nobody has level 56 and we wont ever be able to afford it. But teams that have been in pro for a long time have racked up money from better ticket sales and many of the teams up here racked up huge sums of money because of the ticket sale exploits in seasons 2-4 and they can afford plenty of equipment to adjust players and buy level 56 for everyone. If we have a shitty season this season then our fan support is gone and we make even less money next season. It is bullshit from top to bottom.

If you want to see the zone defense bug I'm talking about then read this thread.

I have a couple people offering to run tactics so I might let them finish out the season but I'd really like if one of the players took over the team because the guys on the team have really become like a big family but most of them already own teams so that isn't looking too promising.

Hate to see teams go but its your decision to make and I hope you do not regret it. I usually find after I take a break its entertaining again even with all the set backs. If I was better at def cord I would like the game a great deal more most likely.

Good luck

Totally understand. I am smart enough to have stopped buying flex three seasons ago, but not smart enough to stop owning a team.

If I ever learn about the concept of sunk cost, I am SOOOO outta here!

Shit, please don't gut mid season Pierre. As a player/GM on the Naturals, who have made it to Pro in the same time frame as CCCC, I can tell you I'd be pissed/heartbroken if this was happening to our team. You've fought too hard and built too good of a team to do this now.

Yes, you made a mistake putting all of your eggs in one basket, the VAs will hurt you corner backs this season but there will 90% likely be another reset at the end of this season. You or some one you trust can rework your D AI to get around it, keep the safeties on zone and go man coverage with the CBs, it would be a rough season but you still have a good enough team to have a decent season and not get relegated.

Don't let all your hard work getting here go for naught. Please finish this season to the best of your teams ability and come back strong next season.

Edit: I know how it is to do the O and D for a whole team. At least you have players who seem to be active and willing to work towards one goal as a team. That is worth saving in it's self, I'd kill for it on the Feeble Minds.

Thanks Chop. I know there will be another vet reset at the end of the season, if Bort was smart then he'd get rid of them all together but even then we'll be broke as shit and two sets of equipment behind the teams that exploited ticket sales and I know how hard that is to overcome in any league but in this league it is impossible. How am I supposed to put the time and effort into this if I know there is no chance of winning it all because some teams cheated 5 seasons ago? Better yet, why should I continue spitting out cash, to work my ass off only to know that the team doesn't have a chance because of an exploit.

I don't know man, I promised a lot of guys that I will take some time off and think about it before doing anything but I don't know if anything outside of Bort fixing zone coverages and/or the fucked up finances in this game why I would change my mind.

Why are you guys trying to talk the guy into continuing?

Go take care of your business so you can provide for your kid. GLB will be here when you get all of that sorted out, and there's plenty of ways to be involved in the meantime that aren't so time consuming.

Finances need to be fixed no doubt.

If you can go 8-8 this season (and I'd bet you can) your fan support will be ok, buying EQ is a pain in the ass for our team too.

Just a suggestioin...

Buy 56 eq for only your current skill position players and 48 for every body if you can. Level 64 EQ may never even become a factor depending on how player decline works out in the near future. Once players start living past their peaks and season 2,3 and 4 players start moving up to the top tiers the money difference between teams that used the ticket exploits should become a relatively moot point, or at least I hope so.

Give yourself a little time to let the Bort rage settle. Whichever direction you decide to go I wish you the best. GL
